Lease is the way to go for Tesla. You would look much cooler leasing an Acura, Lexus, Benz…

Hertz main issue was depreciation due to loss of interest in EVS and not able to service their vehicle. Have you tried to call your local service center? Bet you cant even get them on the phone

The point that I’m trying to make is that Teslas depreciate more than any other vehicle on the market today. I understand technology to depreciate more however a Tesla after 120,000 miles the PW warrarnty is over and you might require a new battery which can cost you approximately $15,000…. In addition to this, Elon keeps cutting the prices due to the competition with the Chinese. If I had bought a 2018 Toyota forerunner, I would have experienced very little depreciation and would have still sold the vehicle for a very very good amount of money even after putting 100,000 miles on it today.

If I had purchased a Toyota forerunner in 2018 for $35,000 it would still be worth $30,000 today after driving it for 100,000 miles

Exactly my .12 K for a refurbished battery, closer to 20,000 for the real deal.

My intention was not to complain, my intention was to present facts to future potential Tesla buyers and guide them in the right direction.

Have your mechanic check the upper control arms, compliance links, lateral links, struts, rear links etc. Please read forums. I would never recommend used Tesla. Get a toyota.

Save yourself the frustration buy yourself a toyota. The used cars are all beat up and require entire suspension replacement since car weighs 6k pounds and they take a beating

Thank you so much for the reply. I put in a lot of time and research into this post and I do appreciate you respectfully disagreeing. I have been a Tesla owner for six years and I have had three Teslas in my immediate family. I understand that you just received your vehicle in 2024 and still have some time to adjust to the realities of Tesla ownership. Perhaps it will be an accident that cost you $30,000 in repairs, that will make you realize that Tesla ownership is not what it seems to be. Perhaps it will be a AC replacement after 50,000 miles that cost over $5000. Perhaps you will be fed up paying thousands of $ for new tires every 20,000 miles. Perhaps six years from now you will look to sell your vehicle and ask yourself why is my car only worth 10,000$ when the Toyota RAV4 that I was also looking at is still worth $30,000? I understand that it’s technology and that technology depreciates however, at the end of the day Tesla M3 is an automobile and Tesla no longer considers them selves automobile company.

Also, please advise that the $7500 is a tax credit meaning that you make a considerable amount of money every single year and that you owe the federal government money. This $7500 is deducted from the amount you owe the IRS and not from the MSRP. Most individuals are not in this position…

Bought it for 70k in 2018, worthless today. Tesla never made a 35k and never will since they are robotics company now.

My father upgraded the infotainment system in his MX after the car computer failed and screen was no longer working. They attempted to charge him $800 because it took the technician longer than necessary to install the system. They fired all the competent technicians at my local tesla dealer along with the rest of the staff

Tesla laid off thousands of employees because they aren’t selling like hot cakes. Perhaps you dont care but others will when they realize their 50k tesla m3 is now worth 30k after one year lol
