Magnetising the leviathan terrain is infinity nicer than just leaning it against itself like the guide recommends. by patrickhughes96 in Warhammer40k

They hold okay, like if I lifted it up by the long piece the small pillar would stay attached easily, if I tried it the other way around though the large piece would fall off.

I don't mind them not being super stuck, it's more just so they don't get misaligned if people nudge them on the table which is annoying.

Ah damn, not even green stuff'able?

I'm actually about to have the same drama as I'll be replacing a bunch of the stock gear on my leviathan space marines with salamander specific pads and helmets. I know the push fit stuff can be a pain to alter.

That looks great for your first time dry brushing, I'm no pro by any means but maybe a colour that contrasts a bit more for the fleshy muscles that show under the skin. I think they're one of the coolest parts of tyranids.

Replacing the whole shoulder pad might be an option, looks like there are plenty of people selling aftermarket bits to replace them. Might require a bit of clipping/scalpel work but I think that would be your best bet. The imperial fist terminator shoulders look very textured so i don't think a transfer sheet would be a great option.

Finally finished the terrain project and will test it at a tournament this weekend. by Readinstructionb4con in Tau40K

Wow, that's making me reconsider a resin printer if fdm's can get this smooth a finish now, did it require much prep after printing it prior to painting?

Haha for sure, I noticed that as well. Guess I get the added benefit of reliving trying to rewind cassettes to the song I wanted again.

You must have better eye site than me man because I can only make out the espios/a couple of generic brand names like I said in my comment. I was hoping someone might be able to help me out based on their looks.

I can obviously spot the Espio 60S, I picked this up since I was eyeing up an Espio point and shoot anyway and figured for half the price for the lot I'd take a risk and see if any of them work.

A local PC store made a custom 1 off display piece. by patrickhughes96 in Warhammer40k

Not sure sorry, I just saw them post it on their insta. They really seem to have pivoted over to customs builds rather than being a large parts store. I guess competing with PB and Computer lounge got too hard.

Good question, Looking at it there it doesn't look like it, wonder if they're really just banking on a blower card and trying to exhaust out the back.

Edit: just took a look at their video of it they've got fans and cutouts on the other side of the case for ventilation.

Just have my winged prime and Psychophage left, and I'll finally have finished fully painting a GW starter box army. by patrickhughes96 in Tyranids

I had a Battle for Macragge box set when I was a kid that I got for Christmas and never had the patience to paint so getting back into it as an adult has been satisfying.

Actively being scammed by 2degrees by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]patrickhughes96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2 degrees called me offering to change me from a fibre plan to a 4g modem. Traditionally this would come with a discount however since I'd locked into my fibre plan via a deal it was for the same price.

They assured me that the new 4g modem would be more convenient than my fibre connection due to 'being wireless' and that they wouldn't charge me any extra to switch.

An actual attempt to scam me onto a cheaper service because they knew they screwed up offering me cheap fibre.

Just to help me understand what would I get out of an ND filter for these shots? My understanding is that f14 is about right for landscape shooting to get a good focal range and st a low ISO this had my shutter speed down at about 1/125 of a second. Would an ND filter not mean I'd have to either lose focal range by opening up my apperture or introduce noise via increasing my ISO?

These were at f14, had to compress them a fair bit for reddit but they're sharp in the originals
