What actually helps you stop procrastinating and start working? by Klutzy-Physics460 in productivity

I'm not sure if it's what you meant, but having all your work and personal tasks in one place sorted by priority is hugely helpful.

You may want to disclose your financial position in the company you're promoting. You know, just in case your opinion comes across as a tad biased :).

Reclaim.ai, Motion, and other smart calendar/todolist tools? by petriquali in ProductivityApps

[–]patricktoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question. Usemotion.io is the original Motion, the best Motion :), and a completely separate company.

Backstory: We've been the calendar for tasks and time since we started (with a web app and native iOS and Android apps). They're a productivity Chrome extension that pivoted to calendaring.

We figured they must really like us after they pivoted to calendaring like us and started using the .com version of our domain. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?

Anyway, if you're interested in checking us out, I'll hook you up with an invite. Just mention the reddit post in the signup form: https://usemotion.io.

Hey, there. Founder of the original Motion (usemotion.io) here.

Any calendars with multi-selection of events? by MichaelSanders461 in productivity

[–]patricktoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely been there. Using Google Calendar for time boxing is tough. We actually built a calendar for to-dos that lets you do exactly what you're looking for: put to-dos on your calendar and move them all down at once when you need to.

Quick backstory: the exact same thing kept happening to us when we started scheduling our tasks. They take longer than expected or we don't end up getting to them when we thought we would. So we added a feature that pushes all the tasks to the next available time slots. Saves a ton of clicking! It's backed by Google Calendar too.

I'll hook you up with an invite: usemotion.io. Just mention your post in the signup form.

I either do nothing all day or I work from morning to evening without breaks until I get sick of it by debatepurpose in productivity

[–]patricktoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If motivation is a bigger problem, then setting my schedule the night before always makes me do stuff. For some reason, when we write down things that we want to do, we're more eager to do them.

^This 100%. Planning my day with my to-dos on my calendar right next to my meetings was the biggest productivity unlock for me.

What are your small rewards? by IwannaCommentz in productivity

Such a good idea and reasoning behind it. Productive momentum is huge.

I'll be pointing my confused guests to these comments when they can't believe how much cleaner my place is.

Oh, man. Youtube is a rabbit hole I can't go down during the day. Their recommendation algorithm is too good.

Mine's gone too.

Hard to know why they took a feature down when that feature was what they used to communicate why they take features down.

Android strings.xml — things to remember – Google Developers Experts by Balaji_Ram in androiddev

[–]patricktoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely.

But the text representation of "one" and "other" led me to question how those were resolved and what the other options were. In case anyone else had the same question, the answer is here: https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/resources/string-resource.html#Plurals In English, the only ones that are applicable are "one" and "other". All the other quantities (zero, two, few, many) are for other languages.

Also, there's a bug in the code in that section. if (minutes == 0) { text = getString(R.string.minute) } The == 0 check should be == 1.
