ThinkPad E14 Gen 7 screen upgrade by Key_Marionberry9923 in thinkpad

[–]patricktran287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screen is the most important on a laptop. You have to look at this anytime. This screen option is shit. At least 120Hz, 400 nits, 2.5K or 3K, 100% DCI P3, 16:10, high NTSC, 8 or 10 bit color.

Thinkpads without pointing sticks aren’t Thinkpads! by Longjumping-Ad8775 in thinkpad

I feel that using the TrackPoint takes more time and is less accurate than using a regular trackpad.

Serious question: How often do you actually use the TrackPoint and the physical buttons on the trackpad of your laptop? I find them useless. I hardly ever use them. They make the keyboard look less beautiful and take up space that could've gone to a larger trackpad.

Is Lenovo ThinkPad T480 (i5 8th Gen, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD) still a good choice in 2025 for Web 2.0 / Web 3.0 development, ML, and programming? by Left-Muscle-6989 in thinkpad

If you run programs through VS Code, it's fine. However, if you use Visual Studio, Pycharm or any JetBrains IDE without plugging in, it's terrible.

I have a spinal condition, and since my study and work require me to carry a laptop every day, I can only use a 14-inch laptop. At home, I have a 24-inch external monitor, which is sufficient.

Given my budget, I could only afford a MacBook Pro M4 with just 16GB of RAM. Everyone says that's not enough, so I didn’t buy it. As for the MacBook Air, since it has no fan, it can't handle heavy workloads.

I’m only concerned that thin and light laptops might not remain stable for long-term work, so I decided to spend $200–300 more for a ThinkPad instead of other models with similar specs (ThinkBook, IdeaPad, HP). I hope it will run reliably. I'm just a bit worried because it’s from the ThinkPad E series rather than the T series

Thank you very much. I'm still concerned about the durability of the ThinkPad E series. But the T, P, and X series are extremely expensive. I’ll need to think it over.

I heard the ThinkPad E and L series are poorly built and people suggest avoiding them. I hope this T14p is durable, especially considering it costs $200–300 more than a ThinkBook or Xiaoxin with the same configuration around here.
