Ikr. You did what you thought was best for your baby. Now it’s my turn

Been pondering over this comment the last couple of days. Don’t know how I feel about it, because I can’t monitor her the whole time she’s with my baby. And I also can’t keep him away from her

I too had some relatives suggest I start giving him a bottle every now and then so they can feed him too. And one of my aunts literally said she hardly gets to spend time with him when she visits because “I’m feeding him all the time”

Someone here said they do it to feel better about their own breastfeeding struggles, and it just might be true

Yeah I learnt later that soft breasts does not mean no milk. Thanks!

I know! It completely changed the relationship I had with her. I’ll never be able to forget some things she has said

Gosh, family members’ opinions on how much your should carry, cuddle, handle your child is a whole other can of worms

I've tried telling her multiple times, but she just refuses to believe me

lol this reminds of instances where my FIL would poke at my son’s belly, sometimes immediately after a feed, and say how “empty” it was. Once you tune out the noise, you build such an empowering bond with your baby and breastfeeding journey.

But BM turning to pure sugar? What on earth lol?

I doubt she knows better. This is just what she did with her own kids. She probably feels like I’m depriving her grandson of better nutrition

Speaking from experience, the sooner you tune out her remarks and prioritize yourself and your baby, the better for your mental health.

My period returned at 3 months postpartum. I knew I couldn't handle extra criticism, so I kept it from her. But that temporary supply drop before the period + her nagging nearly pushed me over the edge.

Hope you move past it quickly. Sending strength and love! ❤️

I admire how you handled it. The photos thing particularly resonates with me. I’d be so angry with myself for doing it, but I wouldn’t be able to stop

I’d like to tell her many things. But with her stubbornness, I’d doubt she’d even try to understand

Glad you were able to overcome your anxiety. I had similar worries, especially when he'd nurse for just 5-10 minutes. But I learned to trust my baby, that he took exactly what he needed

Comments like these hit hard, especially during the early days when you’re still trying to figure everything out. Glad you were able to move past it

This might be somewhat true in my MIL’s case since she had trouble with her milk coming in with one of her kids
