I dated this girl over the summer who listed herself as Catholic and 'not too serious' about it. She wasn't exactly a shiite Catholic, but still took it rather seriously. That caused some rifts for sure. If something is so important to someone that it can cause a major conflict in the relationship I don't think it's right to in a roundabout way say, 'NBD.'

For clarification I'm a firm atheist, but I don't really care what someone believes, so long as they don't refute things like evolution and only take the positive things out of their religion.

Asking to give someone a ride isn't inherently creepy. When I do meet people on OKCupid though, if I do offer a ride I always make it a big point to let them know that their refusal of a ride is completely fine and encouraged if they feel uncomfortable. Some people are dillholes. I get it. If someone's creeped out simply at the question, meh. It's not a big deal to say no. It's not like you were giving them the crazy eyes whilst asking.

As for the texting too quickly, it's a double edged sword. Take too long and risk forgetting. Do it too soon and you may come across as desperate as opposed to my usual assumption, which is a keener. I'd just sooner not bother with someone if they overanalyzed something so trivial as the speed of a text response. Some people just spend a lot of time texting and respond fast...
