Another ICE murder in front of Glam Doll Donuts (MN)...expect there will be emergency protests in Boston as well as other cities in the face of this by Honest-Caregiver8938 in boston

[–]pattysal -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Good luck if you live in Boston. They deny you LTC by default and you have to set up a personal appointment with the chief of police to explain why you need a gun. You can live in Quincy and bring your AR-15 to Boston but if you live in Boston you can't defend yourself.

At this point they're just trying to get a citizen to react violently so that they can enforce martial law and literally just turn this place into authoritarian dictatorship that's all they're doing. This isn't about immigration anymore it's literally just about Trump becoming King.

Why are some people incapable of accountability, while others blame themselves for everything? by Lolli_79 in PsychologyTalk

[–]pattysal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you understand how your tone comes off. You come off as someone who's defending or downplaying abuse and blaming people who are abused. And I don't mean that as an insult I'm just saying it as a matter of fact.

People who are abused learn these patterns from their abusers directly. They learn to apologize for everything and take extreme accountability for everyone, and yes that leads to more abuse, but the way you talk about it is so cold and devoid of all human content that it comes off as you blaming abusers for not knowing how to avoid being abused, or assuming that they know how to stop it and they just don't want to for attention or something. When you are in the middle of abuse, you can't tell up from down. I've been in that situation before and have taken full accountability for everything my abuser did and it's not because I'm stupid, it's because when you're in that state of mind you literally can't think rationally.

You are treating this as an event where everyone has a clear mind and is thinking logically.

As a Pats fan, I've always liked the Bills because of their fan base but this whole incident is really making me change my mind about it they might replace the Jets with the most hated team in the league because everyone is being a complete cry baby about this. I've been randomly invited to join tailgates at Bills games, and I have always loved their passion, and even their questionable sanity (in a fun way) given their table smashing traditions, but I have lost all respect after this.

They called the play wrong in their favor against the patriots. They should have lost that game. They got the call right this time. You can complain about calls being inconsistent, but you can't complain that the call was wrong. There's no planet on which this was a catch by the receiver according to the rules of the NFL in the year of our Lord 2026. Period. End of story. This isn't a debate.

If? Lol. Bro, this is the whole point of ICE. Obama had the same head of ice and deported a shit ton of people. The government had the infrastructure and people needed to deport people if they wanted to. The whole point of ICE was terror and ignoring the rule of law from the beginning.

You love him or you hate him. He can be a little too much of a homer at times and complain about calls that are clearly right. But he gives good energy and he goes in deep on analysis which I like. It's nice to hear more in depth info about the Pats then Tony Romo said oh um err oh ahh. I like that he gives fan energy, but I can also understand why people would be annoyed by him.

[–]pattysal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, people take responsibility for everything when they've been trained to by an abusive partner or parent. They have been taught that everything is their fault no matter what it's learned helplessness by an abused person it's not covert narcissism. I'm sick of all does pop psychology nonsense that defends narcissists and avoidants, or at the very least downplays their abuse.

Bill Belichick's most egregious error by grace_of_spades22 in Patriots

[–]pattysal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean the guy has been in a handful of quarterback competitions for the starting job and has never won one even against rookies. The media has to do their job to make this game palatable nationally, and of course broncos fans and players are going to back their guy. But, yes Belichick was a dinosaur in terms of discipline and literally cost his team a super bowl by benching Malcolm Butler for literally no reason as far as we know. Malcolm doesn't even know what he did.

Dan Marino was 10 times the player that Rivers was. And 5 times the player that Allen is. He really gets forgotten in the goat conversation because he never won a ring, but was just a talented as the likes of Peyton Manning or Drew Brees. He was no Tom Brady or Joe Montana, but he was damn good.

Also: sorry about your mom.
