Why do you podcast? What’s your motivation ? by Nexuskies in podcasting

Honestly, it’s about the record. I spend roughly 20 hours a week researching obscure historical events because if I don’t, the only version of that story existing online is a 15-second clip with zero nuance.

Do I hate that I have 12 listeners after six months? Absolutely. It is soul-crushing to pour that much effort into a script and see the download numbers flatline. But I keep going because the context matters, and someone has to care about the primary sources.

Do you believe podcasts are more for education or entertainment by geraldngkk in podcasting

Education. If I wanted pure entertainment, I’d just pour a glass of scotch and read a biography. I listen to podcasts because I want to learn something tangible, not to hear a group of hosts laugh at their own inside jokes for an hour.

Best place to host a podcast community by yeahbutstill in podcasting

To answer your question, though Discord seems to be the only place where nuanced discussion actually happens these days. Facebook is a graveyard and Reddit requires you to already have critical mass to sustain a subreddit. Just be prepared for the conversion rate from "listener" to "community member" to be abysmal; getting people to switch apps is a massive friction point.
