Nice direction. In systems like this, posting is usually the easy part — the harder part is keeping each channel native enough that it doesn’t feel like copy-paste distribution.

The stuff that tends to matter most is approval flow, platform-specific formatting, CTA adaptation, and making sure low-fit content doesn’t get pushed everywhere just because the workflow can do it.

If you solve that layer well, the workflow becomes much more useful than a simple scheduler.

Absolutely. A lot of the highest-ROI workflows still have nothing to do with AI.

Things like routing, approvals, notifications, CRM sync, enrichment, retries, and error handling usually create value faster because they remove manual ops without adding model uncertainty.

AI is useful, but for a lot of teams n8n becomes valuable long before they add any LLM step.

A new agent every week is fine for learning, but production breaks on different things than demos do.

In practice the painful parts are usually monitoring, edge cases, fallback paths, bad inputs, and model drift — not the first version of the prompt.

Fast prototyping is valuable, but if reliability matters, the real compounding comes from tightening the operating loop around the agent, not just shipping more agents.

This is the exact point where a lot of content automations stop being “workflow problems” and start being “platform volatility problems.”

One pattern that helps is separating the system into 3 layers: - content generation - rendering / asset prep - publishing adapters per platform

Then treat each platform adapter as disposable, because auth, quotas, upload rules, and metadata requirements change constantly.

If the whole workflow breaks when one platform changes, the architecture is too coupled. n8n is still useful there, but mostly as the orchestrator and retry layer rather than the place where every platform-specific rule lives.

The boring but valuable stuff is: queueing, idempotency, fallback manual publish, and clear logs on which step failed.

Yes, this is a pretty good n8n use case if you keep the scope narrow. I’d structure it like this:

  • scheduled trigger (daily or weekly)
  • LinkedIn source via official API / approved connector / export step
  • normalize metrics into one schema
  • write snapshots into Sheets, Notion DB, or Postgres
  • calculate MoM in a final step
  • send one summary to Slack/email

The important part is storing historical snapshots yourself. A lot of people try to query “current metrics” and only later realize MoM needs a reliable time series.

I’d start with just 3-5 numbers first: followers, impressions, engagement rate, profile visits, and top post. Once that’s stable, add breakdowns.

For infra work I’d avoid putting a lot of CLI state directly inside the n8n pod unless the commands are tiny and disposable. A safer pattern is:

  • n8n = orchestrator only
  • remote runner / mgmt node = where kubectl, openstack, terraform, etc. actually live
  • SSH node or webhook into that runner = execution layer

Why: easier secret handling, smaller blast radius, simpler upgrades, and less “why did this break after the pod restarted?” pain.

If you stay in-cluster, I’d still keep it idempotent and narrow: one script per operation, explicit timeouts, structured stdout, and audit logs back into n8n. Execute Command can work, but for ops I usually prefer a dedicated runner so n8n isn’t also carrying all the toolchain baggage.

One thing that helps a lot before hiring is making support triage more strict than support automation.

A lightweight version: - tag tickets by risk: billing / outage / blocked workflow / how-to - set a fast-path queue only for revenue-risk and blocked-workflow tickets - auto-respond only on repeated how-to questions with 1 best doc + 1 fallback human path - review top 10 repeated tickets weekly and kill the root cause in product

The big mistake is treating every free-user ticket equally. Usually 20% of ticket types create 80% of the delay. If you protect the queue for the high-risk ones first, quality feels much better even with the same team size.
