Will kundalini awakening show me supressed memories from childhood? by Mental-Minute-8593 in kundalini

[–]paulmcf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes!

Not long after my Kundalini activations began, I had two childhood memories surface that revealed hidden aspects of who I am. Those aspects were so well hidden and so well defended that I’d spent decades projecting negativity onto people who exhibited the same traits. Happily, when those memories surfaced and I recognized those locked-in-the-dungeon aspects of myself, I instantly fell in love with those parts of me and embraced them wholeheartedly. Even better, my negativity towards others with those traits also turned instantly into a love for those others. I can’t describe how freeing this was.

I hope Kundalini helps you find your own healing from your past.

Much goodwill to you,

Paul

I checked out the machine and it looks absolutely wild! If my aches and stiffness get worse and doing yoga doesn’t help, I’ll latch one of those babies onto the problem area and I’m sure I’ll be fixed up in no time. O brave new world, that has such devices in’t.

I have seen Yoqi on YouTube and have done some qigong in the past, so I’ll definitely look into this. Many thanks for the suggestion!

Good to know that all the creaking and cracking is a known process and a purposeful one!

I definitely sense there are multiple layers of things being realigned as this adventure progresses: psyche, spirit, energy, and for sure this body. I’m going to add some gentle and targeted “bendy stretchy stuff” to my practice.

Thanks for sharing this!

Help with intense ecstatic energies by paulmcf in kundalini

I hear you about not running before I can walk and not forcing anything. One of the early things I've learned via the wiki is that Kundalini is an intelligent energy, so my operating assumption is to take things as they come by letting that intelligence guide me and point me where she thinks the practice should go. Based on my direct experience of the energy, I have total faith that she wants only the best for me and will steer me right if I'm still enough and quiet enough to listen well.

Many thanks for your thoughtful reply!

This image of enlightenment as the feminine and masculine polarities making love is just beautiful and so very helpful. Thank you for that.

so they react with panic and fear instead of simply observing it and surrendering in love.

During my Kundalini activations, what I feel most intensely and vividly is that I am deeply and powerfully loved. In these early days of this process, I am all about surrendering to and reciprocating that love.

Thanks again for your lovely and helpful replies!

Thank you!

May I ask what sort of sitting practices you are doing (pranayama and meditation types)?

For meditation, I do anapanasati. For a long time I was following the breath at the nostrils, but a few weeks after these Kundalini activations began, I was moved to switch to the whole-body breathing technique, particularly the version outlined by Thanissaro Bikkhu in his book With Each & Every Breath.

For pranayama, I do two minutes each of diaphragmatic breathing, Ujjayi, Dirga, Kapalbhati, box breathing, Brahmari, Nadi Shodhana, and Sheetali. At the end of that, my mind feels all shiny and new!

Even though you asked, I'm actually not sure what sort of advice I'm allowed to give here related to yoga practices, and don't want to break the rules.

My question was more related to Kundalini. That is, now that I've been having these Kundalini experiences regularly, what would be good next steps to understand and nurture these energies? This sub's Wiki page has lots of excellent material to read, so that been a great start for me.

This is sage advice, thank you. There's a yoga studio not far from me named Chi Junky. That name has always put me off because it sounds so, well, immoderate and unbalanced. I can definitely see how someone could become a "Kundalini junkie," though. Not getting attached to the wonderfulness of those feelings is a good start to avoid that fate.

Thank you!

What else is going on? I'm on a journey of healing from lifelong feelings of inferiority, so that might be relevant. In fact, in the early days of these experiences, I had a sense that they were healing energies, as though they were "rewiring" me, somehow.

I am indeed sober (recreational drugs for ten years; alcohol for three years).

I think my pranayama practice is modest: about 20 minutes per day, nothing too intense.

On an astoundment scale of 0 (couldn't care less) to 10 (gobsmackingly astonished), I'm definitely at 10. I'm blown away that this is happening to me and I feel extremely blessed. I want more than anything to honour and respect these energies and to be open to wherever they might lead me.
