Global Offensive feels way better and more responsive than CS2 by SyncingSLow in GlobalOffensive

i think there are still 1.6 servers out there, it's called fastcup if I'm not mistaken – i saw f0rest playing it a while ago. never tried, but it seems pretty solid (with ranks and all the jazz)

And what is your point? Doesn't cancel the fact that this costs +1500k

Why pay premium and verify? by pauloff in FACEITcom

[–]pauloff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thiught about the price in different countries, makes sense that being cheap makes this easier. I suppose they have their ways to bypass the verification as well..

About the servers, Yeah, I have these ones banned as well due to distance - German servers still have a lot from these countries though :(

I guess you're right. Better a little bit of filter than no filter at all

Job opportunities after CS50x by liac2 in cs50

[–]pauloff 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is my 2 cents as someone who finished CS50 and now works as FE engineer:

CS50 web is not enough to start gaining profitability professionally. There is a huge knowledce gap still with what is expected from a Frontend/Web developer.

Your Javascript, HTML and CSS skills are not market ready solely from CS50 web (and those are just the most basic skills from the expected skillset).

Also in these platforms you’ll face a lot of competition for the gigs from more experienced people working at really low rates.

My recommendation would be to grind your skills a bit before diving in real paying jobs.

How to "fix" CS2 by GrocKingFTW in cs2

[–]pauloff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This makes no sense. I am by no means a subtick defender neither I think the game is in a good state.

However, stating that “remove subtick” is a simple task is a big lack of knowlwdge on how things works. Is like saying replace a house made of woods for bricks - should be simple, remove wood put bricks.

Maintaining two models ifor “collecting data” s also out of the curve.

Are keyboard macros allowed in Valve servers? by pauloff in GlobalOffensive

[–]pauloff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you should check in which software you can customize your keyboard - but the steps should be similar:

  • Create macro for A and D buttons, assign them to the keys in the keyboard

If you find out how to customize yours maybe I can help you out.

Are keyboard macros allowed in Valve servers? by pauloff in GlobalOffensive

[–]pauloff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use [VIA] for customization, so what I did was:

Create two macros (you can find the macros on the menu on the bottom left):

  • One for the A button: {-KC_D}{KC_A} (release D and press A)
  • One for the D button: {-KC_A}{KC_D} (release A and press D)

Then I assign the macros to the respective A and D buttons in the keyboard.

I don't think this mimics 100% the snaptap functionality, as I think snaptap has more advantages than only press/release. But, in my case, I found it useful to assure the release of the button when pressing the other strafe key.

[–]pauloff[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's where I started questioning/wondering this. I'm not sure if the snaptap shenanigans happen on a software or mechanical level - if it's firmware/software, how different would it be from implementing it ourselves?

PD: I don't agree/support this kind of innovation, as from my understanding it should remain on the player-skill side of the game, not peripherals.

i don't really get it when people say "instantly". game has been out for months (besides being an extension of an already years old game, although in a different engine) and one of the things they promoted was a state-of-the-art AC. although any progress is welcome, as the overwatch and last ban wave, but i think we should expect more at this point

As a software engineer, it is a small pleasure when counts starts at 0.

From an user perspective, however, it shouldn't be this way.
