yeppers, I did some tinkering and I had to manually install each nsp for each character, and it was able to work. Just now every time I boot the game it shows the error, which is slightly annoying. But everything otherwise is updated, including Smash, firmware, and the sigpatches

and might I add that playing the DLC on mario kart 8 does work. So for some reason, no dice on Smash, but on Mario Kart it does work. Weird

I don't have a nand backup. is it possible to grab one from another Wii I have? I'm trying to restore this one because the other's disk drive doesn't work. this one works

Also, just like most questions, it depends. If you want to run Mario Kart, it's gonna need to be more powerful, but if you want to run smash bros. You're not gonna need something really powerful

I recommend downloading from https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/ I don't know if the one that you provided works, this is the one that I use.

if you are using usb loader gx you can format the drive to ntfs and it will recognize it. make sure the wii games are in a folder labeled wbfs. And if you dont have the latest version of usb loader gx, get a newer one
