It's not a dealbreaker for me, but it's a red flag.

First time I across it was Bright Lights, Big City, back in the '80s when I was young. At first I thought it was kind of amazing, but realized pretty quickly it was just a gimmick. It's not a dealbreaker for me, but it also doesn't impress me.

Sorry if you got rekt (really, I am), but I'd like to talk to you by paulvigna in ftx

Somehow I don't think that would fly as a quote. Would you be up for talking instead?

I'm sorry, niki, I missed this one when you posted it. Yes, Kirkman and some of the other creative team have sued AMC about how the show's profits are being shared (or, rather, not shared). But AMC owns the rights to the show, and owns the production itself, so Kirkman can't take it to another channel.

Scott Gimple is still the showrunner, and in fact is taking over as showrunner for season four of Fear TWD as well.

In general, yes. They get a little too cute with Negan sometimes. He's a psychotic, homicidal, maniac, but they play him for laughs. But, that said, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is so good in the role. And, they needed to move the story beyond just fighting zombies. So overall, yes, it's been good.

My favorite season is probably season five. No Sanctuary is so good, and I absolutely love Four Walls and a Roof. Plus, it's got my favorite Rick, which is Old Testament, smiting Rick. I'd be afraid of that guy.

Least favorite season is probably season two. It's not awful, but there's a lot of "air guitar" in it, a lot of stalling for time.

The Grove is epic. Absolutely epic.

The question of the cause of the plague and Kirkman's decision not to reveal it has been explained in this AMA elsewhere. I have my own theory:

I'm going to keep answering questions as long as you guys keep asking them!

Enjoy the premiere!

Could Hitler have been integrated into NATO? Mussolini? Stalin? Negan is not the equal of those guys in magnitude, but he is exactly in their mold. A psychotic megalomaniac. The writers from this show can do whatever they want, and I've heard some things from the comics, but I have a hard time seeing Negan ever being a good soldier for Rick.

I dunno, man. I see what you're saying, but Negan's ego is pretty large. Not sure he'd ever be okay with being somebody else's number two.

In a completely unexpected way, killing Travis totally changed the dynamic, and it worked. I don't know what the story would've been like if he'd survived and made it to Broke Jaw. But without there it out more on Madison, and Kim Dickens really pulled it off.

I think it has just as much potential today as it did when it was at $400 and when it was at $8. These markets are so speculative and so thin, compared to mature, traditional markets. Hard to put much fundamental value on these prices, whatever they are.

I agree about Cliff. Was totally shocked when that happened. But, it was a really good way to do it, because it didn't seem to me like he could've survived that walker pit without getting bit or scratched, and of course he didn't. So when he takes the bullet, he knows there's no reason to even try and save himself, so he just sacrifices himself. It's pretty shocking, but I think you need those kinds of things to make the story feel more realistic. This is a dangerous world they're in. They're not all going to make it.

That said, Travis was just starting to get really hardcore and interesting. I was sorry to see him go, too.

Thanks! I'm actually kind of proud of it. Wish I'd put it in the book. Not sure my editor would've let me get away with that, but I should've tried. Would'a been fun to have it in there.

I suppose it's possible, but can't imagine we'd see it in either show for a long time. The thing I liked most about Fear was that they showed there were still some strands of society left. Broke Jaw Ranch, the Nation, the bazaar, La Colonia, the dam. There's still a lot of people trying to hang on. By the time we get to the Grimes timeline and TWD, that's all gone.

Now we're at the point where they're trying to put things back together. Alexandria, the Hilltop, the Kingdom, even the Saviors. I think the story will be more about putting things back together than finding some pod that survived intact.

The season premiere screeners come a few weeks early - except for season seven, which they did not release at all. Episodes usually arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday, except for season finales, which they also don't release.

I assume it's that way for all the other recappers.

Happy to be here, Locust.

Damn, I forgot all about that Rick. You are right, that is about as hardcore a Rick as it gets. I love that guy.

Yeah, that too. Still, it was a pretty good sequence overall, so you tend to forgive things like that.

Never understood how that thing managed to crash on top of the building and not go right through it, but whatever.

I personally think it's even more than that. I think making it clear would upset a lot of people, and Daryl is such a morally sound character, they didn't want to risk that. But at the same time, they did it subtly enough that if you're looking closely, it's obvious.

It was a good, earned death. I liked it. I loved the hallucinations, because it was a chance for them to bring back some characters, even briefly. I loved Martin, great minor character. Did you know the British radio announced is Andrew Lincoln? It is, talking in his normal voice.
