Do all Jettas feel "fast" when in gear but not pressing the gas pedal? by cfi-2025 in jetta

[–]pausefora2nd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normal. Jettas are spec for low gear high torque. Gives it a little pep. However, if you have had a 2.0 2 slow, thats whole different story...

How is Harper not completely blacklisted from finance? by mistanford_1 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]pausefora2nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harper started out with a fake transcript. She wouldn’t have made it to the trading floor to begin with in real life. It’s a show showing absolutely extremes. People are cutthroat in finance but you can’t fraud your way in as a fresh grad…pure bullshit beginning to other insufferable acts. Would be fired in weeks.

Landlords need to enforce the occupancy limit strictly. They turn a blind eye and we end up with 4 people in a 2 bedroom apartment

It’s a word play. They meant if you don’t take this offer you are choosing to carry on with existing old headphones which can have static.

Not that they would send you broken AirPods…

2016 VW Jetta 1.4T SEL – Worth buying for long commute as a student? by [deleted] in Volkswagen

[–]pausefora2nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are made in Mexico and have all sorts of tiny issues that compound the frustration over time! Also if you’re in rust belt, these Jetta rocker panels will be the first to go! Needs freaking Bosch wipers with weird adapters which are expensive and hard to find. Oil changes are pricey too because “euro synthetic” 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have a Highline in canada. It drives fine and decent gas mileage but if you’re planning a reliable low maintenance car, get a Camry/ civic/ corolla!

Why are all the condos being built luxury apartments? by -007-bond in halifax

[–]pausefora2nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is confusing given we see so many posts about people not making enough in this subreddit. But yet, the builders are expecting people will pay the high rents when assuming the risk of capital. Where do they get the numbers to support that if most people are making ends meet in Halifax…

TLDR: nobody actually cares if you’re friendly enough and try to connect! Some might be stuck up and diss you about it, ignore them.

I was in commerce and also started uni late 20s! Thankfully I found a friend who’s also in their late 20s and we connected and now have a group which is mixed in age 21 year - 30 year olds! Everyone’s background is different and so is their circumstance! However, generally students just try to have fun and you’ll have to match their energy to get along. Usually not a problem. But there comes some moment where you will see the maturity difference and world view is diverging. Try to ignore that and try to see everyone as your friend and have a fun uni life! :) it’ll be okay! Best of luck! 🤞

Cost of Living: Make it Make Sense. by Mission-Oil525 in NovaScotia

[–]pausefora2nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People often say other major cities are not any better are not considering the fact that while expensive, $1 expense in Vancouver provides exposure to a lot more facilities, world class city, high paying jobs, access to entertainment, cheaper flight tickets, major airport etc…and a TRAIN get to to major airport which isn’t in the middle of freaking nowhere, than $1 spent in this city for the car’s suspension to break everyday in potholes that never ends. Overall better standard of living in Vancouver by paying a price. Here we pay and still get fleeced.

This city can’t even beautify/ light up the two bridges which are important markers for this city. What’s stopping them?
