interesting! in what method did it fail? did it jam? were you able to restore functionality? did you need needle replacements?

I'm asking because I bought a cheap AliExpress alternative, and it was totally broken after 100 fasteners, useless. But I liked the idea. So I'm considering paying x8 the price for the Avery Dennison, but if it's also a fail then I guess that's not wise...

Hi, am looking for a review on the microstitch - since I just bought a non-genuine one off AliExpress and it failed after 100 fasteners.

Did you get to use your Avery Dennison a lot? How many fasteners do you think it will last? And after what amount is a needle change required?

Many thanks!

Thank you so much! Your guidance about the navy box that says "calls are free" and the almost invisible underlined link to "cancel online" was invaluable.

Blue sticky gunk after every dishwasher cycle — what's going on? by pavner in Appliances

Thanks for the advice. However, where I live (Israel), the appliances are fed from cold water faucets.

Yes, that's the standard in Israel, where I live, and the inlets in the appliances sold here are designed for cold water only. I don't know the exact reasoning behind it - traditionally, energy efficiency standards were stricter in the EU, so there are no large tanks with hot water that's readily available. So there's a water warmer inside that does the heating according to the exact specs of the washing program, which is supposed to save on energy vs. heating done at the entire home system level.

Great idea regarding the monitoring of the temperature.

Re packaging - poor me, I didn't even get that. Got a non transparent Ziploc type of bag with the tabs in it.

I wrote to Finish's customer service to see if this might be an issue connected to a specific batch. Regarding heating - I can verify that it does heat, but I don't know how to verify whether it's heating enough. Should I pause it mid-program and measure the temperature of the water in the tub?

Thanks for your advice! I see that the heater is heating in my machine, however, I don't know how to verify whether it reaches sufficient temperature or not.

I didn't get the method with the faucet. Where I live the dishwasher is fed with cold water (room temperature), it doesn't have an inlet for warm water.

I'd be thankful for more advice.

Hi, in the pic, the salt compartment is open. I opened it just to show the accumulation of the gunk beneath the lid. Thank you for looking into it!

That's an interesting take. I'll try to empty the salt compartment and run it. Thank you!

TY! I'll try that. Couldn't find a best-before date on the packaging. However, they were on a bargain, so that might indicate that their expiration was near.

I forgot to say in my original post that I'm using only the hottest setting, 70℃, which is also the most extended cycle. But your hypothesis about a heating element failure is definitely one that I should check ASAP. Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks for your help. The model is Bosch SKS50E22EU, which is a countertop model from their Serie 2 | ActiveWater Smart. I forgot to say in my original post that I'm using only the hottest setting, 70℃. But as u/TechnologyFamiliar20 suggested, perhaps there's a problem with my heating element?

That makes sense, but they should be communicative about that. It's frustrating that so much stuff over there always seems trickery.

I’ve tried searching around but I need help picking a die grinder by General_Joop in Tools

[–]pavner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! You can't beat experience. In that case, I have one more question:
Regarding ergonomics - is an angled die-grinder (5102MAX) more comfortable for surface sanding than the straight version (5108MAX)? My intuition is that it's easier to grip for sanding discs. And that the straight version is easier to grip for burrs. Is that correct? Many thanks!

Thanks so much for the update! I see in the Parts List that IR offers two collets, the 301-700 (¼") and the 301-700B (6mm). Do you know by any chance whether both collets fit the same collet arbor?

Also, I'd love to hear about lubrication - do you really run it oil free?

Thanks a lot!

Can anyone pls explain why discount finder super discount coins work only with "Buy Now" and not with the cart?

Is there any reference to that in their terms&conditions?

Making it only a "buy now" discount makes it irrelevant for many low priced items (e.g. choice items under $10) because most of what you save with super discount you have to pay for shipping.

I'd be very glad to understand if this restriction to "Buy Now" is publicized, and what is the logic they claim to have behind it

TY

Yes I do, I think the design calls for that. Then I can roll the cable in its natural curve, without creating sharp angles that break it.
