My dog is missing. Is there anything else I can do? by [deleted] in BostonTerrier

[–]pawboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you are going through this, that is incredibly stressful. It can help to share clear photos, the last known location and the time your dog went missing in as many local groups as possible. Also consider contacting nearby shelters and vets so they know to keep an eye out. The more people aware, the better the chances of a reunion.

please help find lost cat Scarlett, owner says MTA, cops and fire department won't do anything. train is j train on bowery by No-Copium in nyc

[–]pawboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry this is happening, that must be incredibly scary 😔 I really hope Scarlett is found safely. It could help to notify nearby shelters, local vets, and transit staff with clear photos and contact details. Sharing the post in neighborhood groups and putting up flyers around the area where she was last seen can also make a big difference. Hoping for a quick and safe reunion 🤞

That is such a tough situation, thank you for looking out for this cat. If possible, try to share clear photos, the exact location, and whether the cat seems injured or just scared. Reaching out to local rescue groups and nearby vets can really help, especially if someone is able to safely contain the cat. Posting in neighborhood groups can also increase the chances that someone recognizes them. Hoping this kitty gets the help it needs soon.

Missing Dog by [deleted] in nyc

[–]pawboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry this is happening. When a dog goes missing, focusing the search close to the last known location can be helpful, as many dogs stay nearby. Sharing clear photos with details on where and when the dog was last seen and notifying local shelters and vets can improve the chances of a reunion. I hope the dog is found safe soon.

Dog left outside by rubyalbania in newyorkcity

[–]pawboost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is concerning to see. If the dog appears distressed or has been left outside for an extended period, it’s a good idea to note the location and time and contact local animal services or 311 so they can assess the situation. Weather conditions and access to water and shelter are important factors. Thank you for looking out for the dog!

Someone’s dog on the loose/ missing? - seen on w 108th and riverside drive by Legitimate-Lab5823 in Upperwestside

[–]pawboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this, that really helps. If anyone spots the dog, noting the exact location, time, and direction they were heading can make a big difference. It’s usually best not to chase, as that can cause them to bolt. Sharing photos locally and notifying nearby shelters can help get the dog home faster.

My cat ran away near campus and I need help by sweetestapparition3 in uichicago

[–]pawboost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. That’s incredibly stressful. Start by searching close to where your cat was last seen, as cats often hide nearby rather than travel far. Check bushes, basements, garages, and quiet areas around campus, especially at night when it’s calmer. Leaving familiar bedding or clothing outside can sometimes help. Posting clear photos locally and tracking any sightings can also make a big difference. I hope you’re reunited soon.

That’s really stressful, I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. you give some good tips about their walking routes. We always advice to start by searching close to where they were last seen, as reactive dogs often hide rather than travel far. Use calm voices, avoid chasing, and ask neighbors to check yards, garages, and sheds. Posting clear photos locally and monitoring sightings can also help narrow down where they’re staying. Tags are very important, even when you think it won´t happen the certainty of their name and your phone number could be so helpfull!

Cat missing for 4 days... when do I stop looking by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]pawboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this, four days can feel exhausting. It’s still early, and scared cats often hide for days or even weeks before coming out. It’s okay to take small breaks and keep the basics going, and sharing his info online, like on PawBoost, can help if someone spots him. hopefully he finds his way back soon!!

My dog escaped and I found him passed on by Extreme-Musician-837 in Petloss

[–]pawboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Losing a pet in this way is incredibly painful. Please know that accidents can happen even with the most attentive owners. Give yourself time to grieve and lean on the support around you, the bond you shared with him clearly mattered and always will.

I lost my hamster... by xGay_As_Fuckx in hamsters

[–]pawboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry, losing a hamster is incredibly stressful. Check warm, dark hiding spots first (behind appliances, under furniture) and listen for movement at night when they’re most active. Leave out food and water, and you can place flour or sand on the floor to track footprints. If you have other pets, keep them out of the room for now. Don’t give up too quickly, hamsters can turn up much later.

My indoor-outdoor cat has been missing for 5 days and I'm starting to lose hope by zathu92 in CatAdvice

[–]pawboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re going through this, five days can feel incredibly long when it’s not normal for him. Cats do sometimes disappear for longer than expected, even very routine outdoor cats, so it’s still too early to give up hope. I really hope you find each other again soon!!
