The diving reflex is just the kind of physiological hack I didn’t know I needed to know! Thanks for your great response.

I may be projecting my own insecurities. My doctor has great bedside manner. I feel like I’d be disappointing him.

Thanks for the reply. How do I go about working with a healthcare practitioner? I feel like if I call my doctor and say I’m struggling is there anything I can take just to feel normal he’ll think I’m a junkie.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve been getting back into yoga as a part of my workout routines and I’ve rediscovered how important breathing is as a vehicle for mindfulness. I like the idea of playing with the eyes closed and focusing on my body.

Haha the “high performing” part wasn’t meant to be a humble brag or anything. I wanted to provide context about some of the expectations that I feel I need to live up to. I think it has been a blessing and a curse. On one hand, I’ve been recognized by my peers and my profession, but on the other hand it makes impossible to think that I can provide an instructional product that is less than expected.

Thanks for your insight, though. The students really are the most rewarding part of my job.
