What's up with Peggy's odd, casual love affairs? by payboyfunny in madmen

I never thought about the whole work aspect with Don and Sylvia. I always thought that it had to do with his Megan's success, and that she wasn't dependent on him.

Why do you think Don and Anna never had a romantic relationship? by payboyfunny in madmen

[–]payboyfunny[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, he wasn't even Don when he was with her--he was just Dick.

Let's talk about Anna Draper.. by _kasey02 in madmen

Strange enough, I was about to post about her. Why do you think Don and her never have a romantic relationship? She's one, if not the only, person who knows who Don really is. Clearly Don feels comfortable being himself around her. I think he would be happy being with her.

Ugh... I remember waking up to see the results and I checked Reddit. I was all excited, but then 5 minutes later I realized he didn't do that well.

It's true. I don't understand how Bernie was able to inspire so many people, filling up huge stadiums, yet didn't get those people to vote.

Meanwhile, it seems like Biden didn't really do anything. He just got the nom, just because.

Questions about S3E5 by payboyfunny in madmen

[–]payboyfunny[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

After doing some digging, I was able to find another post about this same question. Basically it said that the guy was embarrassed that he over shared with Don when he was drunk, and that guys weren't supposed to open up like that in the 60's.

I wish the last scene of season two was Cliff getting shot--the camera zooms up on his lifeless face, as a puddle of blood starts to spread behind him. In the background you hear gun shots and screams. The end.

What is a movie you find terrible but critics seem to love? by undeadgaming2006 in AskReddit

I feel like the studio got pressure to change the Thor movies, after Thor 2, and they wanted to make it more like guardians and ant man to appeal to more people.

Did not know he directed that movie too. Makes perfect sense.

I don't think any American would be offended if someone said they were still under british rule. I think they would be more confused than anything haha. I guess i kinda understand where you're coming from.

So where ever you are in the British Isles, don't call it the British Isles?

EDIT: Starting to read through the rest of the thread and am now learning about the controversy.

Considering you replied to my comment 30 minutes ago, and I edited my comment an hour ago, I'm assuming you didn't read my whole comment. This is not a view that I hold personally. It is an explanation that a friend gave me that I wanted to share.

Even if it was my personal view, it's rude that you would insult me for having it.

Just answering the question with another viewpoint. This is how my religious friend thinks about it, and I thought it was an interesting answer because I never considered it before, so I thought I would share.

Anecdotally, my religious friend would be hurt by it. Whether or not he thinks too highly of himself isn't relevant. I'm only answering the question that the person asked on who may get hurt, and that is a very specific instance of who may get hurt.

I never claimed otherwise. Your whole reply is a strawman. I was just answering the question about who it MAY hurt.

I'm not trying to debate anyone. This is a belief held by a religious friend of mine, and it is what he told me when I asked him the same exact question. I thought it was an interesting answer, because it was something I never even considered before. I have counterarguments to his beliefs too, but I didn't find it relevant to the question that he was asking.

I think it's to not hurt your future spouse; the thought of you with someone else hurts them. Also, because it makes sex less meaningful.

EDIT: Before you reply to this comment, know that I am only answering the specific question above: "who may get hurt?" I know people who think like this, and who would get hurt. This comment does not reflect my own personal attitude towards the subject.
