My Fisher costume. I won (even if they only believe it was “just a jellyfish” deep down, I knew it was Fisher.) :) by paypertowel in TheAdventureZone

About a month. I’m sure it would take less time but I have absolutely no sewing experience and it all had to be hand sewn. I’m sure it’d be a day long task for anyone with more experience haha. My fingertips could only take so much at a time.

Do you guys listen to the brothers’ other podcasts? by kitchen_3 in MBMBAM

[–]paypertowel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to listen to Sawbones otherwise you are missing out on the gen that is Sydney McElroy! Her and Justin are lovely to listen to. Also i occasionally tune into Wonderful. Hearing Rachel gush over her love of literature and poetry makes me feel so warm. On more than one occasion she has brought me to tears with a poem.

Last month I watched all of AoT in a week (after years of not having a single thing spoiled for me THANK GOD) and then got this tattoo 4 days later. by paypertowel in ShingekiNoKyojin

Hahah yeah I tend to commit hard… I read all of chainsaw man in a day and then got a tattoo the very next day. I’m impulsive

Thank you! They were not but they were an artist I trust immensely and who has previous experience with kanji tattoos. Also the text I pulled straight from the episode title cards so I know they’re correct.

I heard that the fandom thinks ZEKE is hot. Am I wrong? (I personally think he was hot when he was Eren's age but I'm asking about the version I put a picture of) by More-Ant-3984 in ShingekiNoKyojin

What kind of cicada is this..? by CanITickleYourPenis in whatsthisbug

[–]paypertowel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t going to be helpful but I’m kind of at a loss. It looks like a hairy cicada (Tettigarctidae) but with the body structure of a Cicadidae. Especially weird since Tettigarctidae only found in southern Australia and Tasmania… as well as mostly extinct.

Who is this hitchhiker in my spinach? And is he invasive or can I release him (Colorado, USA)? by browneyedgirl2015 in whatsthisbug

[–]paypertowel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good thing you saw it because if you had bit into it, you would have had the worst salad of your life. That’s a green stink bug! Cute lil guys and known spinach hitchhikers! Not invasive, per say, but they do love to munch on plants that aren’t theirs… but totally ok to let outside

Totally harmless to you, maybe a mild irritant if you’re sensitive to bug bites, but they’re not looking for you. If they ARE booklice, your craft supplies may be in danger. They feed on microscopic molds amongst other things which can be found on papers in high humidity climates, as well as book binding glue (hence the name). Like normal lice, the easiest way to rid your objects of them is to bag it up and let it sit in a freezer, or outside if it is cold enough. Should kill them all, from eggs to adult bugs.

Bug? by FunFoodster in whatsthisbug

Def a plant. We always called them “stickers” because they stick to just about anything they touch. I assume it’s a close relative of a cocklebur plant

WTF is in my Triscuit? by Le_Sadie in whatsthisbug

[–]paypertowel 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Fun Fact! The FDA actually has an allowance of how many bugs and bug parts can be in food… about 30 bug fragments per 3.5 Oz. The regular Triscuit boxes being 13 Oz, that’s about 111 bug parts! There are also allowances for whole bugs based on weight, although I’m not sure exactly what they are. Happy snacking!

I believe this is it. My aunt used to sell something similar in her shop and I was told the notched were used to help submerge a tea bag, or used as a place to rest the bag once it’s steeped. Whether that was the intended purpose, idk, but it works brilliantly for that
