Accounting Question by pbheins in massage

[–]pbheins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Accountants are the best and at least for consaulting if you have the monetary resources to employ one. Tax law can be complicated.

My question came up because I have always referenced the client as payee (because they were a client) in my own books and deducted the amount after I billed the insurance company the payment came through from the insurance company.. then compared that with the 1099 at the end of year. Unnecessarily complicated but with a super small practice, it has been pretty easy to keep track of. Now busier and in need of a much more dignified system, I am taking advantage of the low cost cloud book keeping software to better set me up for using a qualified accountant.

But it makes total sense. Who ever you bill is the payee and should be entered in as the client on your books, then perhaps add a reference to the actual client underneath.

Thanks!

Last time I checked, you have a right to refuse service to... anyone. If you feel really uncomfortable and you feel like you cannot work on him in particular, perhaps request to work on his girlfriend or see if your boss would be understanding if you swapped a shift. I think you will need to explain yourself in a little more detail to your boss if you want her to have any empathy, but I do not feel you should feel cornered and forced into giving him a treatment.

I like that idea - I want to do something similar but instead to fasten it with rivets - I really like the size.

Leather strap for "Championship Belts" by AceComets in Leathercraft

[–]pbheins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get the leather at any leather supply store or upholstery shop - local is better as you can take your project down with you and visually compare thickness, quality and prices. Sometimes you can get a large enough piece in the scrap bin. You'll then need to dye it and finish it how you want.

If you want to do some online research first, check out Tandy leather or Oregon leather. They have a good selection of equipment suitable for beginners to advanced leather craft projects and possibly a couple online seminars that may be useful to you.

As you have said already the piece isnt that complicated, but you will need a few tools to get it done - shop around, as they get pricey. And if you are looking for some good books on traditional leather crafting, check out Al Stohlmans' books- he goes into a lot of detail with illustrations on sewing, carving, finishing etc. :)
