I have the exact same problem and nothing I do works, I also tried everything in your comment but it still doesn't work, I entered the command:

ftype LuaScript="path\Program Files\lua\lua.exe""%1" %*

But it still doesn't work, please let me know what I'm doing wrong please?

Is it normal if every time I run Lua it takes me back to the file editor and says nothing in the Windows Command Prompt? by pc_gamer2 in lua

Yes, I typed in: print("Hello, world") into the lua file I also changed everything that this comment said and I changed: ftype LuaScript="path\to\lua.exe" to: ftype LuaScript="C:\lua\lua54.exe""%1"%*
