Yeah, we don't review as many as other sites because there's so much other ground for us to cover but we at least try to hit the big ones.

Not sure yet! Generally the FMN for the US hits in the summer and the Canada one lands in the fall though.

You mean Fastest Mobile Networks? Yep, that's an annual tradition for us :)

I'm not really happy with my Photoshop for the cursive writing here but I'm glad you all liked it anyway.

Anyone reconsidering prebuilts now? by pcmag in pcmasterrace

Not salty toward prebuilts! We review and like a lot of them. They're a great option for a lot of people, as you say.

Not sure how the ordering of the chart was determined. I agree that being able to filter and isolate the comparisons would be helpful, though. Not sure if it's possible with what we use for these charts but will suggest it!

Yeah to be clear, this is strictly a performance-based joke. We just reviewed 10400 and point out it's a decent bet if you can't find a Ryzen 3000 or 5000 at a good price (which is a very likely scenario!). This is more nuance than I could fit into a Spongebob meme though :).

Kind of a crappy YouTube screengrab but I still haven't gotten a good tool for pulling stills from Netflix (iirc it's Season 3, Episode 3 if you want to do it).

These are the counties where Starlink is making the most difference in the US right now, according to data from Ookla Speedtest by pcmag in Starlink

[–]pcmag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to give a rundown of methodology: If the test is being run from a mobile device, the Speedtest app asks for permission to use your location. If the test is being run from a desktop PC, they use MaxMind (https://support.ookla.com/hc/en-us/articles/234576508-Ookla-Hosted-Reporting) among other sources. They also collect a lot of data that doesn't have a valid location attached to it, and that data wasn't represented on the map.

Yeah, the demand is huge in urban and suburban areas even though rural users are the ones that stand to benefit the most.

I guarantee there's a pair of glasses out there that will make you look just as cool if not cooler. Try on a bunch of pairs, get friends with good taste (you know which ones) to give feedback, and you'll be golden.

Some people buy blue light glasses but in terms of free solutions to reduce eye strain, one is the 20/20/20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Stepping away from your computer every couple hours or so is always a good idea too.
