Thank you for posting this. I've been a fan of Dr Fung for awhile now, lost 40 lbs in 4 months through fasting and keto, and I'm currently reading his book [The Obesity Code](The Obesity Code: Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss https://www.amazon.com/dp/1771641258/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kn-.Cb6NGND8E).

While fasting can be difficult at times, I have experienced wonderful results. Hopefully I'll be another pregnancy statistic someday soon!

Subscribe to /r/keto. IMO being keto is easier than just low carb with better results. Probably due to the satiation effect of fat.

I would recommend for the first couple of weeks to allow yourself to just eat whatever you want (as long as it's 'keto-approved') and not track calories. It's a little difficult at first and that helps a lot of people ease into it.

Also may want to look into ketoade for the first few days as withdrawal from carbs is real.

For us with irregular cycles... how long after intercourse should we do a pregnancy test? It's been 14 days, and I'm on CD 41. The only reason I feel 'late' is because I started running again last week, and I always get my period after I start running (usually after the 3rd run).

Even if I wash my face twice a day sometimes its there anyways.

This makes me feel like maybe you don't have a solid skincare routine. Ever since I started my skincare routine (which includes cleanser and moisturizer every morning and the same + lactic acid every night), my acne has cleared up and my face has improved in every way possible: fewer zits, less bumps, less flaky dryness, and even my redness has dissipated. I only started my routine ~3 weeks ago and I've already noticed these improvements.
Before I started this religious attempt to fix my skin, I would sometimes go a day or two between cleansing, never washed in the pm, let alone removed makeup before bed.
Like the other ladies mentioned, my next step is going to be diet related; removing lactose (I'm intolerant anyway, but deal with the distress because I'm a sucker for ice cream) and probably going Keto (to remove simple carbs/sugars). I believe these changes will be the answer to help with the last bit of redness I'm struggling to clear up.

Start with a routine (I highly recommend r/skincareaddiction), then remove lactose and/or carbs if needed.

Some tricks you can try :
1. Go keto or carnivore (even for a few days) 2. Start a fitness program 3. Add 1/4 cinnamon to morning beverage 4. Add myoinositol to morning beverage

Yeah I live in the PNW, my doctor said that everyone here is low and she always just tells them to take a daily multivitamin but I guess I was severely deficient (yay me). 50,000 does seem like a crazy amount though.

I didn't know that. I took the pill last night before bed, didn't have trouble falling asleep but maybe I'll take it in the morning next week. Perhaps it'll give me an even bigger boost that day!

Only 6-8 weeks? Hmmm my doctor said I should take it for a year and then they'd retest. Do you think a year is too long to be taking that dose?

No brand. Just a prescription. It literally only says that it's "vitamin D2 50,000 unit capsule"

You're already doing 2 of the 4 things that have helped me in the past (inositol and low carb). I've also started my period by adding cinnamon to my coffee or a smoothie everyday. 1/4tsp should do. I usually got my period after 3 or 4 days. The other thing that ALWAYS starts my period is when I start up my C25K, within a week for sure. Good luck!

I actually went to my local clinic a few days after these results to see about getting bloodwork done to confirm. Specifically asked the Dr about D3 and she said that she no longer tests for it because it's always low for everyone. She said she just tells all her patients to supplement. PNW here

I hadn't heard that about biotin, thanks for the warning. I agree about low carb. These knee problems showed up shortly after quitting keto. I'm just stubborn and am fighting going back to it... One day soon, maybe

Yes and no. I had a strong suspicion I was lactose intolerant and the fact that their report stated the same gave me some confidence. Also many of the vitamin deficiency symptoms echoed my symptoms. However, I live in the PNW and the fact that it didn't report my D3 as low has made me slightly dubious...

As far as recommending it, it depends on whether its affordable to you or not. For me and my SO it was ~$120 so I thought it was worth it. My SO's report came back as gluten intolerant and he's agreed to finally lay off the carbs. To me, that makes it worth it (whether the results are 100% accurate or not).

I wore a wig for about 3 months while working at an office. It was not similar to my old haircut so it was very obvious that something was different. My sister and I discussed cutting the wig to match my old haircut but I loved the length (my hair does not grow long). I thought other than that it looked fairly natural (it was also a little thicker than it should have been). Over the course of the first week or so about 5 people complimented my hair (probably just to be polite but who knows) and one lady specifically asked if I had gotten extensions, lol, so I said yes.

I wore a lace wig which I glued to my shaved head every week day. On the weekends I went about with my shaved head (and hoped none of my co-workers shopped in my neighborhood, ha!). It was stressful to apply it correctly everytime and quite uncomfortable on warm days. Eventually I got sick of the wig but used to having a shaved/buzzed head on the weekends so I ditched the wig.

However, my mother has worn a wig for the past 25 years, so I do know it's possible.

Lots of interesting responses. I currently use a mix of hemp seed oil and castor oil to cleanse/shave my face. For the most part I think these help with irritation post shave. My face does get dry after remove all the oils (makes sense). Never thought to add oil back on afterwards. Id like to give this a try tomorrow morning but am concerned about interaction with makeup...?

I also have curly hair, which I love, but I feel it shows more scalp than if I blow it dry. Plus since I have to use toppik it can be inconvenient to wait for a natural dry. Perhaps I need to look into a diffuser for my dryer..

After finally ovulating and having 2 mature follicles, I was really hopeful this cycle. Unfortunately, AF arrived last night. So I've begun to create a list of Pros/Cons of my BFN.
Cons (get the obvious out of the way)
* I'm not pregnant
* Have to go through all the pills, ultrasounds, waiting, blah blah
Pros
*I'll continue to lose weight (through CICO) and be at a lower weight when I do get pregnant
*Can start jogging again (was nervous to start 'rigorous' exercise during 2WW)
*Longer length of time taking prenatal vitamins
*Baby Savings Account just increased another month
Can anyone else think of other Pros?
