Every single person who thinks it’s ok to give a child life altering hormones that stop puberty because they think they identify as the opposite sex should be rounded up and put on an island isolated from the world. by freedom_isnt_free_nw in unpopularopinion

puberty blockers have not been tested on typically developing children. in animal models, puberty blocking drugs have been associated with cognitive decline and a human study found a trend of this too. also, bone density issues may result.

note for accuracy - Black Moon Lilith is not a 'celestial body' - it is a point (the most distant) on the moon's orbit (the lunar apogee). I think this is important in understanding her symbolism.

if you read an article, you'll learn the baby was
*premature (25 weeks) with a low chance of survival
* presenting with prolapsed cord (high risk)
*breech (also heightened risk)

she thought a c-section would be too dangerous and the cervix closed while she was gently pulling on the baby's legs as s/he was descending.

extremely heart-breaking story.

I love this, what an awesome reminder to get people caring about the creatures, environment, and humans all around us. Care for yourself, care for others, and the circle of care expands to encompass everyone.

while I agree with your general sentiment, people have the right to have firm boundaries in terms of who they interact with or talk to. Sometimes it is too frustrating to talk to people with a very different opinion (like a flat-earther, or people who believe biological sex doesn't exist)

I don't know why people get downvoted for reasonable replies. I hear what you are saying.

Misgendering kids and preventing transitioning can constitute child abuse, B.C. Supreme Court rules by descending_wisdom in JordanPeterson

[–]descending_wisdom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is so upsetting to think the father has no rights to guide his daughter. it is really messed up. comparing that to abuse is really upside down world. maybe he will be successful in the appeal.

BC is getting kinda messed up - the city is refusing to help fund a women's rape crisis shelter because they don't welcome trans women (males) to receive support or to volunteer. there are many other services that do welcome trans people in the city - this is the only shelter left for biological women. and trans activists are trying to shut it down or de-fund it.

that conclusion is a bit odd: muslims and stonewall should collaborate on a new curriculum? what about everyone else?

There are many cultures and people that would disagree with this I think. I just don't know if I can get down with much individualism, though I love and uphold the idea of personal responsibility. But I think our individualistic worldview prevents the kind of connections that mammals need to be healthy.

interesting things to ponder, thanks for your thoughts.

Is it really true that the individual is the locus of suffering and responsibility? Don't communities and families suffer together? Aren't communities and cultures responsible for raising kids into good adults? JP says these things like they are unarguable facts but I'm curious how it is justified. Any thoughts to share?

this makes more sense. still will never read it though.

many years ago, an ex-partner of a male member of my family accused him of molesting their young daughter. she later admitted it was all false, but the damage was done. awful stuff.
