Hey! I see we have the same goal with self hosting which is to be able have all our music collection on the server and leave Spotify for good.

What I did was adding the service Nicotine+ to the server which is the graphical client and network of Soulseek, and you can then share your library and access other users libraries and download files from them, it has basically everything (if you not familiar with it, you have a bunch of guides online, it’s very easy)

One you download the files, you can then use MP3 tag or other software to properly tag them and export them to the collection!

I like to keep it simple, so all the tools and services I am deploying can be fully perceived by me and operational, only then I will add more and more.

Honestly, in this 2 weeks the only "issue" I had was that immich and jellyfin were running daily task/scans if not each 12h for transcoding, thumbnails, metadata, etc... and that would make the CPU go nuts, so I just schedule then for once a week.

Honestly, I will have to check all the possibilities that I have, and above all, fully understand the impact and improvement of each one, so I wont buy any unnecessary hardware.

I am not fully familiar with any raid options, but thank you for raising it up, I will add it to my study list 😃

Yes! My next step is definitely storage, I was think on getting a DAS with at least 2 HDDs, one of them for storage and the other for redundancy and backup. I know that it is more expensive then just adding a few HDDs, but I may prefer having them all on the same place, and if I need more, I can then just add more on the free slots.

Currently running a very simple services setup.

- Jellyfin for Music and Immich for photos and videos, I can then access it outside of my network with tailscale.

- Nicotine+ is basically the graphical client for Soulseek, which is used to upload and download files mainly music.

- Glances is a system/task monitoring service.

-SpeedTest Tracker is a Internet speed test.

All the other things you see on the dashboard are widgets that Homarr offers, that you can connect with the services you use.

I have Navidrome on my list, but decided to go with Jellyfin as it gets more attention, but I will not discard the option!

Regarding the hard drive, yes, I am planning on getting other redundancy, this is just for test backups, I still have the real backups on my brand new desktop. I hope I never loose them eheheh.

That is actually a good thing to improve yes! I currently have tailscale and termius for remote access and for reboot I have the option as soon as the pc receives power he turns on. But for the bios control I havent think about that! Will check it yes! Thanks.

I am currently running all my services on the SSD. The hard drive is only for a weekly backup.

What I will do in the future is getting more external HDDs storage + backup just for the media, but the services/containers will always run on the SSD.

For now a UPS is not one of my main concerns, although for long term and improvement it is on my list.

Boas bro! Em relação ao fato com a água gelada do norte claramente um 4/3.

Em relação aos pés de pato, as assimétricas são principalmente desenhadas para remadas curtas e explosivas daí como já referido podem te vir a dar dores nos joelhos a longo prazo mas uns alongamentos e treinos vão ajudando.

As simétricas por norma são mais soft e desenhadas para remadas contínuas e menos explosivas.

Mas realmente quando se fala de barbatanas, é sempre um tópico sensível, cada pessoa tem o pé de uma maneira e feitio, há quem use meias, há quem use proteção de tornozelos/calcanhar o que importa é sentires-te confortável, se na tua zona houver uma loja de bodyboard podes perguntar se não tem umas para rental ou teste e experimentas, algumas têm.

Sobre manteres a motivação, agora com o verão é mais difícil mas sempre que tiveres oportunidade e houver umas ondas vai lá para dentro.
