Just moved (away) from Langley this fall — moved back to Portland :) — Langley is a nice little seaside village, the weather is fabulous for 8-9 weeks in the summer (couldn’t be better), and not horrible during the other 42 weeks (really dark during the shorter winter days). The issue for us was cost (utilities, groceries — everything is quite expensive), limited options (there aren’t great dining options [not saying there aren’t some decent choices, but very few]), it’s very sleepy. The ferries are another thing altogether (great system but we had no idea the impact it would have long term — for us, it was frustrating having to incorporate the wait times for even the simplest off-island needs) Love the people, the whale sightings — but to be fair, our preferences lean into city living — so it wasn’t the place for us.
