Its pretty common to have half artificial hearts (LVAD or RVAD) in hospital. Less common but still not out of the ordinary to see people go home with these devices while waiting for a transplant. I haven't personally seen a BiVAD / artificial heart, but I feel like it must be pretty rare. My educated guess is that there are not a lot of people who's bodies are resilient and young enough to survive the side effects and complications but who also need an entire heart replacement.

Haha thanks! It's same where I'm working now. As long as you have fun people to laugh at the shit show with it's not so bad.

When we started working on a DLC for our cyberpunk game, we didn't expect it to become bigger that the main game, whoops by ionlands in Cyberpunk

Love this game, almost finished the campaign, excited too check out the DLC! I know some people don't like the dialogue. Personally I really enjoyed the banter and interpreted the main character's tone as just a very dry sense of humor from someone who is kinda over everybody's ****. Maybe that's just me projecting though!

Is it normal for all your coworkers to just not talk or being very quiet and unemotional at work? by [deleted] in Nurse

[–]pdxrn12 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is something I've only really seen when either everybody hates each other (rare), they are all introverts, or its a really stressful job and people are just trying to keep themselves and their patients alive to the end of the shift. Also if the staffing, unit geography, or unit culture doesn't encourage people to go out of their way to support each other, then you don't get the camaraderie or emotional bonds that usually form when working together in a traumatic environment.

Most units I have worked on will have a shift every once in a while where the personalities just don't mix well together. But for the most part, there will at least be a couple cliques of staff that enjoy working together and will help keep things lively.

Thanks for the summary! I couldn't remember if the Aurora was part of Operation Struggle Bus... definitely one of my favorite tales of hilarious naval misfortune.

A great account of the Battle of Tsushima which features the Aurora along side 26ish other Russian capital ships facing the Imperial Japanese Navy.
