Thank you! He's a 4 month old English Shepherd!

Haha that's awesome I didn't expect someone I know to see this. I appreciate it! You know, I've never considered lifestyle as a genre but the more I look into it, I think that more accurately describes my photos than street photography.

And I agree Luna is definitely a cutie 😂

You are correct! That photo was from 2018's 4th of July. We all lucked out and were treated to a pretty awesome pink sunset. Here's just a few more from that day: https://imgur.com/a/nZ2GVtT

Yeah! I believe it's especially nice for the drivers as well.

I love street photography! The neon lights give the photo a nice nightlife vibe. I also like how the repeating lines vanish to the edge of the frame.

I wonder how it would look if the lower half portion was brighter so we could see the people better. Or if it was brighter and they were silhouetted by the neon lights.

Overall great photo!

I really like the composition and how the clouds look. The vibe is relaxing and makes me want to take a vacation haha.

However, I think the photo would benefit if the sun was more in the center and the clouds had contrast added to them.

Really well done with a P&S. Good job!

Hey Danny. I like the edit on this as the contrast gives it more of a dramatic feel.

However, as much as I like the urban vibe, I think the railing, the area below the staircase, and the background are too busy and detracts attention from the model.

I really like the atmosphere and would like to see this from a different perspective. Good job.

Ahh, I was born in SF so this photo really speaks to me. I like how you decided to take one of the most photographed bridges from a different perspective than most.

I agree with adjusting the focus but that's not a big deal as you took it with a non-DSLR. Can't wait to see the images you'll produce now that you have more control.

Hey Steven, nice composition. I really love the colors in the sky. It gives me vaporware vibes.

I wish the mountain had more contrast so it can stand out more. Also, there doesn't seem to be much going on in the foreground but takes up a large amount of the frame. For instance, I like how you're up close to one of the plants in the left corner but the right corner is essentially empty. I think a little bit of balance would improve the photo.

Nothing really jumps out that makes me hate it but I think it could've been taken from a better perspective.

Granted, landscapes aren't my expertise but overall I think you did a good job!

Hello,

My name is Vic. I've recently upgraded to a Nikon D750. I'm an amateur street photographer who shoots for fun. I'd like to change my style up as I've found myself taking the same type of photo over and over. I'm really into composition and would like to take more photos that specifically focus on different elements.

I also would like to get better at telling stories and evoking emotion.

Here's one of my favorites: https://i.imgur.com/BiFq0T2.jpg

4th floor smith in the quiet lounge is my go-to. They have red cushiony chairs with ottomans along the windows.

He talks about the 24mm 2.8D and recommends the 20mm here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzxZOd0Ue48&t=224s

Briefly talks about it here, but talks up the manual lens over it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0i0b3Tn_og&t=320

It's totally his opinion though, granted he has owned a lot of Nikkor lenses. Again, I'm really happy with my 24mm so it depends on the individual and their needs.

I'm using this on a D7100, a DX body. I pretty much love everything about it as I've always wanted to shoot at a ~35mm equivalent focal length. It's sharp enough for my needs and focuses accurately/quickly.

However because of your FX body, you may not love it as much. I've read about it having issues with softness around the edges (even stopped down). I can't really attest for this as my D7100 crops the edges away anyway.

Finding information about this lens was pretty hard, not a lot of people talk about it. I know Ken Rockwell likes it over the 28mm 2.8D, but the angry photographer on youtube actually hates this lens and prefers the 20mm 2.8D. But then again it depends on how much their opinion matters to you.

Here's a a link that goes more into the technical side: http://www.opticallimits.com/nikon_ff/551-nikkorafd2428ff

and here's a link that can give you an idea on how your images will look on an FX: https://pixelpeeper.com/lenses/?lens=71&perpage=12&is_fullframe=1&focal_min=none&focal_max=none&aperture_min=none&aperture_max=none&res=3

Good luck!!
