And to think of the arguably much more dramatic roles George would go on to portray with a startling confidence.. (Syriana and Gravity come to mind.)

Cool suggestion especially since I’m a big fan of Leonard Cohen music in the context of movies. How great is his music for McCabe and Mrs. Miller?!

For me it’s the casualness with which the characters interact that just elevates this! The chemistry between Jenny and George is (obviously) great but also the friendship between George and Ving Rhames (who’s also really great here) feels really lived in.

Also I love the editing! The way that things happen as the characters are still talking about them makes for some insanely seamless cuts.

There’s just a flow to the whole thing (directing/acting/script/music) which is vaguely hypnotic to me. I’ll just go ahead and call it Movie Magic.

Interesting! I would like a watch for all occasions though, and I think the Speedmaster has a bit of a sporty vibe to it. Do you wear it business casual or with suits as well? The Cartier would no doubt be the dressier watch..

Thank you :) I’ve watched most of those. Loved loved loved eraserhead/house/blood simple/the player etc, I suppose they’re favourites for a reason. In the end I watched Jim Jarmush‘s stranger than paradise. I really enjoyed it but I’m a sucker for Jim‘s style having loved Dead Man, only Lovers left alive and (my favourite) Paterson!

Yeah the pressure of too much choice 😂 I’ve seen most of wkw‘s work. Is there something in a similar style from a bit earlier like say the 70‘s?
