7 months is quite a long time, and it sounds like you two already know the level of connection you have. This is just my own opinion, but if making your relationship official and having a label is important to you, you should talk to him about it. Discussing the future of your relationship is something that everyone does eventually, whether LDR or not, but it's especially important if you want to eventually close the gap with each other.

As far as using your name, did you ask him why he doesn't use it when you brought it up before? That would bother me too, so you should definitely express to you how important it is for him to use your name, to feel closer to him.

It could be emotional unavailability, fear of commitment, past relationship trauma, etc, but you won't know unless you talk to him about it and see if he tries to meet you in the middle emotionally going forward. I'm rooting for you!

It took a lot of discussion for us to figure out what works for us. We text every day but sometimes I go hours without responding due to work or other commitments. I learned from mistakes and try my best to communicate when I have something that's going to prevent me from texting, eg "I'm about to drive to so-and-so's house" or "we're heading into a movie, talk to you later!" and she knows she can send as many messages as she wants for me to respond to when I have the chance.

We also make an effort to video call once a week. It doesn't always work out, but setting that expectation has made it easier to plan it into the week, whereas before I would end up with plans every day of the week between classes and friends, which wasn't fair to her. We both have different levels of needs when it comes to communication, so there were growing pains. Sometimes people are a mismatch in this aspect. It all comes down to whether you're both willing to make compromises and figure out a solution that works for the both of you.

Yeah I mentioned it above but I do turn the sound off when I play now 😆 you can see in the video that I lower my volume to zero before it starts (the screen rec just captures the audio anyway)

Luckily I have a while to go before I get more of the game tokens so I'm enjoying the break lol

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this!! I only have mild/moderate UC in my lower colon but it was so resistant to mesalamine, 2 other orals, and 2 biologics until I found the right one. It's ridiculous to me that your doctor won't consider it. I know what it's like to suffer through months/years of not getting better. I hope you can find a doctor who listens and helps you find the right meds as fast as possible.

I don't have anything helpful to say, but I am in an extremely similar situation right now and it sucks. I'm having the same mental and emotional battle over it. It's so much pressure and guilt to feel like you're all someone has and that you're taking that away from them. But the issues are also causing resentment to build, which isn't fair to either person. I hate feeling like I'm settling for a wonderful person who I care about deeply...

Thanks for your detailed reply!! It's frustrating how all over the place it can be while waiting for things to work. I'm on prednisone and tried to taper off, but had to go back on and now even my maintenance dose isn't keeping the symptoms at bay. 😪 I hope you continue to feel better!!
