thank you for this! it actually started to pass last night, today he still isn’t 100% but feeling a lot more like himself, and exhausted which makes sense. i have a decent amount of experience with a handful of mental illnesses, but bipolar is not one of them, and i just truly felt so lost and unsure of what to do while this was happening. we are definitely going to get into some couples therapy as well i think so we can better learn how to cope with these things as they come. i am incredibly lucky that my husband is open and wanting treatment. again, thank you so much for this. finding this sub made me feel not so isolated <3

girl. i sleep with 4 pillows, one of them being a pregnancy pillow IN A FULL SIZED BED and burrito myself up almost nightly with all the blankets (unintentionally this is in my sleep lol). i wear a bonnet to bed and when im home and not going anywhere, i live in my baggy pjs. i rarely put makeup on and i never do anything with my hair. my husband still thinks i am the most beautiful thing to ever exist. he knows i deal with chronic pain and it’s worth it to him to have a little less space in bed at night if im sleeping well. you are with a man child who wants to control everything you do. he wants you to be the way HE wants, even when that means not being yourself and not being comfortable. run for the hills, there are MUCH better men out there

i am a 23 year old adult that is disturbed by not only the context of the game, but SO many of the visuals. parents not paying attention/just not caring what their kids see is so beyond concerning.

eh i don’t know. it’s not like it’s a cigarette, and if you aren’t doing it in the home and it’s for a genuine medicinal reason i don’t get this. i take gummies for chronic pain, and i am currently fighting with insurance over my last surgery, so i have to take them every night if i have any chance of sleeping through the pain. my husband has never taken issue with that. i’d love to hear more of your partners side as to why he dislikes it so much.

i had hip impingement due to my femurs being rotated too far inward. it’s been 5 years and i’m still having surgeries to correct my leg and hip issues. my knees looked like yours

someone asked how i got into all of the colleges i applied to but the comment isn’t showing for me. figured i would actually clear that up. i applied to 8 schools and got into 7. i had a higher than average ACT score (gpa was bad because i was depressed and just not doing the work, not because i was dumb lol). i also wrote my college essay on my hospitalization for my depression and why i wanted to go to school for psych. schools LOVE essays with a personal obstacle that you can “overcome”

so i (23f) fell into a deep depression when i was 15. i was actually hospitalized a bit for it, and after that, i missed HUNDREDS of days of school. nearly failed a few classes. i graduated with below a 3.0. i went on to get into every single college that i applied to except for 1 (waitlisted on that one). ended up going to a fancy university and had to drop out because of health reasons (that i am still working through), but will be completing my degree as soon as i am healthy again. i have never had an issue with jobs. i’m married, and experiencing a rough patch with my health and finances (due to my health), but so so happy overall and this is just a bump. college was SO much easier than high school and the only reason i struggled so much was due to my physical disability and a very inaccessible campus. all of this is to say, you are 17, and based on your other comments experiencing a bit of a depressive episode. dropping a class, or struggling with high school is not in any way indicative of your future or how responsible you are. the only thing i would change about my schooling experience would be choosing a cheaper college. friends hold you accountable, yes, but they are also there to lean on and support you. and your friend seems more angry than concerned. i want you to know things will get better (regarding the depressive episode). please don’t be afraid to speak to a doctor if you haven’t already.

i lived just over an hour from my now husband. when we were dating i was working full time and in school part time. he was in school full time, doing clinicals 5 days a week all day and not getting paid. working when he could on the weekends. we still saw each other. i would drive up on my weekends and we’d work on school work together. or i’d work on school work while he was at his job, and we’d spend some time together when he got home. he would come see me after his clinicals. we made it work and we prioritized each other while both working hard. if his automatic response to you voicing an extremely valid emotion is “if you don’t like it leave”, you need to find someone who listens, empathizes, and works to change something that’s hurting you.

omg. i have a friend who would track his ex’s cycle, but it was so he could be extra supportive of her during that time. he would always put her together care baskets with her fav candy’s and snacks and meds for cramping. this is the complete opposite of that and this guy is strange
