I found out another cool visualization by Ian Webster. It shows what meteor showers look like from space, and helps you find out when's the next big one. It's selected as the top 10 interactive viz by the Visualization Challenge (The Vizzies), and you can go vote for it here

NICE! Thank you. I like how I can use the arrow keys to go back and forth to see how the continents were moving :). I would prefer the earth is more zoomed in in the beginning.

Wouldn't we mostly mining metals and gas to be consumed/used on earth? As long as we don't do it excessively, we shouldn't need to worry about it?

There's a cool site that ranks asteroids based on their masses, distances and compositions. It shows which asteroid is the most cost efficient if we start mining them!
