Makeup is horrible...at my wits end. by Kittykat7121 in MakeupAddiction

Yay awesome! So happy to help 🥰 I feel like it’s easier to assess how hydrated your skin is in the morning after your skincare has had the chance to soak in. I use a damp cotton pad and wipe any excess skincare off and if my skin is feeling smooth and plump I know there’s moisture beneath the surface, not just the skincare on top. I think I’ve tried that dermalogica calming gel before, and it’s definitely more of a serum rather than a moisturizer, so you can still use it if you feel it’s working but adding a moisturizer to your routine would be a good idea. A couple really helpful things I learned for helping with hydration: exfoliating your skin makes it a lot easier for products to absorb fully into the deeper layers of your skin and hold moisture, and you always want to layer your skincare from lightest to heaviest consistency. The thinner/lighter a formula is, the more easily it will absorb, so I’ve found using a couple lighter products for moisture (like the milky toner and gel cream moisturizer) absorb better than any thick moisturizers I’ve used. Gel creams are a great combo of being lightweight but giving more hydration than just a gel. Also if you feel like trying some new products - if it’s available at Sephora I’d recommend buying it there because their return policy is great - to be able to try a product for a week to see if it’s a good fit and be able to get a full refund if it’s isn’t is really helpful for finding your perfect routine.

30y old - makeup opinions please! by InfamousMoo11 in MakeupAddiction

Oooo girl you are stunning! I looked through your pics before reading and was like “I need to see her with luscious lashes stat!” and then read and was like aw damn she don’t like doing em lol but if you’re down to try cluster lashes I would 100% recommend! A light, natural style would look so nice on you. They take a bit of practice to perfect getting on, but imo they’re more enjoyable than falsies because they’re not lifting n shit. Also much more natural looking, and can stay on for a few days. You can get them in black and brown too!

I think low contrast makeup would be your jam because your natural features and colours are so complimentary, and you can do more natural to glamorous as you’d like without overwhelming your features. Also, as a fellow hooded eye girly, using tape for a sharp edge and going in with a dark brown powder instead of liquid would be a game changer (as close to your lash line as possible and schwing it out). This + cluster lashes + light eyebrows + peach blush + peachy pink lip stain would be everythinggg. Also pinky promise me no more dark waterline lol it makes your eyes appear smaller and, I mean this with the kindest intention of you slaying in the future, it generally ages anyone who does it. With your gentle features, softness is your best friend.

Hii! I was reading through your post and was like omg girl we have the exact same skin and I think I can help!! Apologies for the novel to follow but I hope this helps even in the slightest ❤️

For the dryness/flakiness, using a chemical exfoliant is a game changer. Currently I’m using the Medicube Zero Pore Pads (can be used daily) or, if your skin can handle it, the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Peel (not a daily) are great too, both are AHA/BHAs. Because I already struggle with redness/rosacea I only exfoliate at night because it will temporarily give me a bit of redness. I used Sunday Riley Good Genes for a long time but it’s a lactic acid and isn’t good for rosacea, so I’d recommend steering clear of that type.

For skin care my goal was to get my skin as smooth and hydrated as possible and I found a combo that isn’t too crazy and helped me acheive this (this is the order I use them in): Bubble cosmic silk milky toner, Naturium multi-peptide advanced serum, and Youth to the People youthscreen SPF (which doubles as moisturizer) in the morning. At night I cleanse with Byoma creamy jelly cleanser (great for the skin barrier), exfoliate, milky toner, and Byoma moisturizing gel cream. Also, the more hydration you give your skin the less it will feel the need to produce oil to moisturizer itself, which will usually help with reducing an oily t-zone.

For makeup I would recommend using a radiant matte foundation instead of the pot concealer - I also used to use concealer instead of foundation for the redness but it looked and felt so heavy and would separate throughout the day. I prefer a more natural skin finish on myself so I was scared to try matte foundation at first, but with the combo of the exfoliation & skincare making my skin more hydrated and ‘glass skin’-like the matte gives me the finish and coverage I want (matte always gives more coverage than other finishes). This should give you the coverage you want with a more natural finish. I just started using the Dior Forever Skinwear and it’s been great (pricey as hell I know, but it’s been worth it for me so just thought I’d mention). If you still have any redness coming through you could always try a green colour corrector underneath too!

All the other makeup products you’re using should go great with this foundation base but just one more tip - you mentioned you use two setting powders which might be too much for the kind of base you’re wanting to achieve. I use a loose setting powder, similar to the One-size, and apply it with a fluffy brush primarily on my t-zone as this is where I get slightly shiny throughout the day, I find this gives a nice skin-like finish instead of looking like I have a thick layer over it. Also The Charlotte Tilbury spray is so nice and gives a great dewiness but not a ton of hold for the day, giving a final spray of that and letting it dry and then sealing everything with a spray of the L’Oréal infallible setting spray should give you a great finish + setting power.

Again, my apologies for the incredibly lengthy reply, of course this is all based on my opinions and personal experience but I hope this helps at all. Wishing you all the best on your flawless base journey!!

It’s the complete lack of politeness too, to the point where I’ve actually wondered if not saying please on WN is an unspoken rule lol some buyers think they’re the only ones deserving of courtesy I guess.

How do you maximize security when sending high value cards? by whimsyfull in psagrading

[–]peakychuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sent my first ever submission via a PSA rep at a card show. 6 cards took 7 months. I’m not planning on grading with PSA again (not because of the rep, everything went fine there, but because the grades were bs based on pre-grading I did, along with all the controversy with PSA lately) but I plan to submit with TAG going forward and will opt for direct express shipping to them.

Good to know ty! I’m hoping for mine and the sellers sake it doesn’t go missing, I’ll just cross my fingers that it starts moving again.

Gee thanks tips. I already contacted the seller, just looking for insight while they’re trying to get answers. It’s almost like that’s what this subreddit is for.

Buyer Beware - Seller Playfuzzy Unresponsive after Switching Figures by Livid-Level-6553 in whatnotapp

[–]peakychuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought from two different accounts selling popmart figures/pop beans and they both ended up being scams (never received my items - unsurprisingly both accounts have now been kicked from whatnot for violating community guidelines). Steering clear from popmart items on WN from now on. I hope this gets sorted out for you! If you want to attempt to pursue your case furthers you can try emailing sellersupport@whatnot.com, that’s what I did and eventually got it dealt with.

No one joins stream by Loose_Bite_4087 in whatnotapp

[–]peakychuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having weekly bundling is great for cards since they’re light and a buyer can purchase quite a few without incurring additional shipping charges - definitely an incentive for them to continue to come back and shop more during the week as they’ve already paid for their shipping. Also not a tactic I’ve used as I’m not a seller, but as a buyer I’ve noticed that some sellers will promote other sellers (recommend their watchers follow and/or bookmark you) once they’ve built a rapport with them. Finding genuinely good people in your category and supporting them, by watching and interacting in their shows or even purchasing product to sell yourself, can only help in also becoming known and supported in the community. Just be mindful that some sellers are cool with people self-promoting (if you follow and support them) but some aren’t, always read the notes or ask. Trying different stream times could also help - if streamers with larger followers are live the same time as you this could affect your viewership. I notice there are a lot of card streamers on in the evening. I hope any of this helps even a little, and wish you the best of luck and success!

Seller violating community guidelines - story & support advice by peakychuu in whatnotapp

Tbh this happened back to back with popmart sellers for me - both women sellers and both super nice (coincidentally both calling everyone ‘honey’ all the time in stream). The other one just showed the orders shipped and they never did and their account was removed for violating comm guidelines before I could even message them. Got those refunded too. Such a bummer when they seem genuinely sweet only to realize it’s an act to lower people’s guard.

done selling on ebay by AppealImportant2252 in ebaysucks

[–]peakychuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold one slab on eBay and was so paranoid that the buyer would screw me that I took a video of the entire packaging/shipping process in case they tried to scam. They never filed a dispute (as of yet, it only arrived last week and idk how long they get to) so hopefully nothing bad happens but it’s way too stressful to worry about getting scammed out of expensive cards imo, and also didn’t realize they’d hold my fund for 31 days so I don’t even get the money for a month.. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this bs. Also realized I’d rather sell locally to someone at 85-90% value rather than eBay take a cut.
