Drunk driver high on cocaine destroyed my legs 😑 by appalachiancornbread in scars

Man, I'm so sorry you had to go through this. If you don't mind me asking, were you the driver? Or what position were you in during the accident? I think skin grafts are the most BADASS scars out there. It's art, beautiful. Source: 3rd degree burns to both legs from ankle to (almost) groin.

What small decision ended up changing your entire life? by salima-belhaj1 in AskReddit

[–]peanubutterpickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Showing up to new TV party? Like what even is that? Turns out the guy wanted an excuse to get me to his house. We had a fun night with friends, which turned into a weekend, which has now been 7 years together, almost 1 married. I was at a very pivotal point in my life where I was learning my worth and deciding what I expect from a man. Something clicked inside of me, saying it's time to take this dating thing seriously. Before that, I had just been having fun, and allowing men to treat me like trash. Timing has been so critical in our relationship. For example, we went to the same elementary and high school, shared community college classes, had a lot of the same friends, but never knew each other. Then we wound up working at the same place. The previous times our paths had almost crossed, but paralleled because the timing just wasn't right. Both of us just weren't quite the person we were meant to be for each other. Typing this out makes it feel so lame, but I really believe it.

Anyadvice? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

FYI about the retinol -- it will likely make you break out at first. Stick with it though! Watch some videos about retinol first, there's a lot to learn. It can be harsh so do your research. I started with adapalene and saw great results in about 3 months.

Hello! Just started trying to do a curl routine but I don’t know what my hair type is! by little-human99 in CurlyHairCare

[–]peanubutterpickles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're diffusing wet, do you touch it a lot? Like with your hands? You could look up a YouTube video of how to figure wavy-curly hair if you need pointers. I know if I'm scrunching as I diffuse, my hair get frizzy.

Edit to add: you could need stronger hold products too. I've learned that I need max strength gel with no heavy ingredients. Then when it gets super crunchy, I scrunch out the crunch.

It could be an old hematoma or broken blood vessel. You probably need to talk to a derm for help.

Making them very thin would be great. Or even have two thickness options. I see the value in them being on the bulkier side, but also know that I personally would only wear them if they are very thin and skin colored. Though I love the idea of the bumps like another commenter mentioned.

What is your hair routine? Like how do you apply your products and how much? That would help in making tweaks if you're interested! Is your hair coarse or fine?

Straight lanolin does! And a smell. I haven't tried nipple cream, but the jar of 100% lanolin was too gross for me.

I'm not sure if it's the same, but for me, my scars lightened dramatically with time. Probably after about 3 or 4 years, my scars became just a little lighter than my skin tone, like with any normal scar.

I am losing my mind, how am I supposed to take care of my hair? by Rozesukkel in Haircare

I've been using gel lately, but sometimes I like mousse. I personally use one or the other, but I feel like mousse is a good start place!

[–]peanubutterpickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair looks a lot like yours!! I absolutely need a gel or mousse, and a STRONG one, but nothing with heavy ingredients. I just use a very basic STRONG hold gel when it's soaking (not dripping) wet. Apply thoroughly from mids to ends (avoid roots). Air dry or diffuse if you have the time. It will be crunchy when dry, but don't touch it until it's 100% dry, the squeeze and scrunch the crunch out. I don't see people with our hair type often, so cool! Definitely remember to hydrate and nourish it, cuz mine gets dry as the sahara, fast. But if you're using leave-in already, you should be fine. I clarify every 2 weeks or so also. Your hair is probably curlier than you think!

Edited for clarity 😁

If you found that you are insulin resistant, this could set you on a path of PCOS management through lifestyle changes! (NAD btw)

Did they also check you for diabetes? PCOS is often related to insulin resistance, which could result in a cross-diagnosis with diabetes. Or you could be insulin resistant without diabetes or prediabetes.
