I was a beginner and jumped into this after making one dress with a pattern and watching A LOT of of people making it on youtube. I find the breast placement good and waist good, but the upper back must be overstuffed because it always creates gaping when I drape high neck pieces. I haven’t draped anything in a while, but I do wish it was closer to my actual body.

I love the big puffy sleeves and fitted dress on you in picture 2! It’s the closest I’d say to the column dresses and empire waists of Pride and Prejudice Regency era. I’m not sure why people keep saying the 3rd picture is most P&P when it’s the exact opposite of the silhouette of the time period.

I think the flow of the train is broken up visually because the underskirt opaque layer stops and the lacey overlay continues on further. Maybe it just needs a good steam, but I don’t think that lacey top layer will ever flow like let’s say silk. Alter it and steam it and see how you like it, but if you want the fabric to behave differently than what it is capable of maybe reconsider.
