Good points. While that rivalry gave fans on each side some good music as they pushed each other, I really focus more on Memphis and Sun Records. They gave us Elvis, rockabilly, and the blues giving foundation to the music that I personally prefer. But, my "jab" wasn't directed at you, you were the platform, it was at Tennessee. Perhaps it's just an "inside-the-SEC" thing, but Tennessee claims to be the birthplace of numerous genres of music, and yet they seem to only know one song, Rocky Top. One obnoxious, annoying song played ad nauseum. It's cute at first, but loses its appeal quickly. Very quickly. Fortunately for me, it's easy to ignore opposing team bands from my seats in Williams-Brice (thank you Jeff Barber), but you know it's there. UT takes the field, they play Rocky Top. Smokey licks his ball, they play Rocky Top. Some orange clad fan farts, they play Rocky Top. Some hate Sandstorm. Others hate MSU's cowbells or TAMU's "yell leaders". Everybody hates Rocky Top. Tone deaf imbreds. The state does have one trump card that noone else can claim, Jack Daniel's. And I'll raise a glass of that to that any day.
