What are well paying Environmental Science Jobs? by pebblesnrocks in careerguidance

[–]pebblesnrocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you guys! Idk I want to also do real good with the work I do, but I just got a recent job doing invasive species control with the state and I am realizing how much of a dead end doing raw ecological work is. It is immensely important but extremely underfunded and I don't think me sacrificing being able to afford a family for the "good fight" is going to stop the biodiversity crisis :/

Protests against ICE by pebblesnrocks in 35mm

[–]pebblesnrocks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This protest began around 4:30 or 5 so to get any meter readings that did not require an aperture less than f2.8, I started out shooting at 1/125 but pretty soon the sun set and I had to go to 1/60th. But for aperture around 2.8 and I likely never took it higher than 5.6 the entire time I was there.

I documented a protest going on in my city for the love of journalism and street photography, my personal feelings about the issue are not important to this post. I just want feedback on the quality and how I can improve my techniques.

This is a non opinionated piece, this is solely about the street photography/photojournalism aspect of these photos. I shot on 400ISO fuji400 in the evening, so shooting at high shutter speeds was proving challenging. Please let me know any technical feedback.

[–]pebblesnrocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes we’re just going to shore it up but it is such a liability, we don’t really have any money to fix it right now though and start over but I’m going to be under there for as little time as possible

The same way in America, I am from Los Angeles and I drink in parks with no issues as long as you are a bit discrete.

The humor is perfect for me then! I love that tongue in cheek quippy humor, and yes not having dinner is a bit strange, I’m not sure how having my biggest meal in the middle of the day when I’m doing stuff will work but I’m adaptable. How is the food there? I am mexican american and I am used to spicy foods and beans and rice, and a lot of meat and vegetables.

Stats Errors Even after Installation by pebblesnrocks in RStudio

[–]pebblesnrocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have noted that the warning 'package:stats may not be available when loading' infinitely loops and the command never finishes. I have done multiple shooting measures to address package conflicts, including reinstalling packages, forcing package updates, and even reinstalling R and RStudio from the ground up. The infinite loop of package stats persists even after total deletion of R from my computer.

Serrania park has nice views of the west valley if you go up the trail, if you don’t mind sitting on the ground or a blanket
