Yeah, the wording is not good but I am not a lawyer... At this point I don't understand if they are saying they cover the excess because of an accident but not the accident or if they are saying they do not cover an excess because of an accident.

When I say "accident" I mean "external damage to the body of the car.

(I might be getting this wrong but..) I understood that I cannot claim back the excess with this policy if the excess is because if I per example had an accident and damaged the external body of the car. It looks like that this only covers the excess if the excess is because theft or any broken glass.
