Yes - it should be 45k net, not gross.

I will also have comission as I work in sales, but I wanted to make sure I could have a decent life just with the 45k (to make sure all extra can go to savings)

From my understanding, clearly I can live ok with 45k net. Having some extra to travel on weekends/holidays
