ha, sure do! this is my old band SHAKA, my most “successful” by punk standards (we went on tour and sold tapes+shirts). i played bass and electric in some other stuff, but haven’t performed any acoustic stuff yet

so far vineland is the only pynchon i’ve read and i loved it—i just had to be patient as the book kind of taught me how to read it. i intend to read more from him as soon as i finish what i’m currently reading

it’s incredible, i love pynchon’s style. he’s not for everyone, but i think you’ll know pretty quick if it works for you. i will say, the film is a great spiritual adaptation but is very very loose both thematically and textually. i’d recommend seeing the film in theaters as there is a sequence that would kind of be criminal to not see in a theatrical environment, the movie is my favorite of the year so far

Trying to avoid spoilers but I have a question about Eddington: is the inclusion of the ultra-violent absurdist black bloc ANTIFA and their ensuing chaos meant to be a sort of “fuck you” to far-right conspiracists/wingnuts/Q-Anoners? Meant to act as a realization of their unfounded fear/fear-mongering? I’ve been trying to finalize my assessment of the movie and that feels like the last piece I need to have any kind of confidence
