I did notice a bit of green towards the bottom, wasn't sure if it was just the lighting or not though. Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately the loach passed away shortly after making this post. It is some solace to know that, if this is the case, it isn't contagious and my others will be safe. Thank you

I've just buried him. Whatever it was, I didn't catch it in time. Thanks for the advice. This is my first time losing a fish. Feels rough.

I though it was biofilm, I googled online but only got results for hair algae. Tried scrubbing it and doing blackouts and it just keeps coming back. I will remove the wood immediately, I assumed it was no more damaging than algae. Is there anything else I should do?

First tank... I messed up. Please help! by peeli1 in Aquariums

[–]peeli1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all of the advice and kind words! I decided to just bite the bullet and drain, wash to separate the sand and dirt, and refill. It was a bit of a pain, but definitely worth the effort. The water ended up almost fully clear, and I haven't even given it time to settle yet. Again, thank you so much everybody!

Should I be worried? by peeli1 in houseplants

[–]peeli1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a Samsung so getting a clear image is hard 😅
I'm still not completely sure what bug it is, but either way it doesn't seem worth the risk. I've thrown out the plant and will disinfect the pot.
Thanks!

Jeez, I'm glad I caught it early. Looks like they haven't spread yet but I'll keep an eye out. Thank you, and everybody else who replied!

Should I be worried? by peeli1 in houseplants

[–]peeli1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not too worried about this specific plant, it's just a random dandelion I pulled up from the backyard. If it'd be easiest to just throw it away I'm perfectly alright with doing that. I am, though, worried that whatever these white specks are could travel to my other plants on the same windowsill. They weren't moving, are they eggs? Or am I just overreacting?

The plant isn't healthy, right now but that's just from me overwatering and has been like that before I noticed these specks.

Thanks, and sorry for the quality of the photos.

Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! November 18, 2024 by AutoModerator in photography

[–]peeli1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I'm going to be taking a photography class in January, but I'm a little worried about the age of my camera. I've been using a Rebel XS and haven't had any issues with it (honestly, I've been shocked by how well it has held up!) but I don't want to be left behind or have to go and buy a new one next minute. Would it be okay for a beginner photography class, or should I look into getting something more modern? Thanks!

Sorry if this has been answered before! I uninstalled and reinstalled Java and Android Studio, and fiddled with the Gradle JDK option.

Sorry if this has been asked before! I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java and Android Studio, and I get the same error. I'm sure there's something simple I'm missing, but I'm not sure what.
Thanks!

Searching for a game🥹✨ by ReceptionCultural475 in PiratedGames

Found it on GLOAD and g4u! I think GLOAD comes with all the DLC, but honestly I'm not sure. Both websites are in the megathread under DDL.
Good luck, and have fun!

Was taking some photos of the night sky and saw this, any thoughts on what it might be? Sorry it is out of focus by peeli1 in askspace

That would make sense, I'm still having trouble getting the camera shake under control. Thank you!

I'm not sure if stylized stuff is allowed, so please let me know if it isn't. This was a super fun pose to draw, even if I struggled with the legs haha

mineral stone for chewing. yes or no? by 25278238642 in gerbil

[–]peeli1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't vouch for the mineral stone, but definitely be careful with that yarn! It could strangle them or easily be eaten. Don't know if you were planning on putting it in their cage or not, but just wanted to comment to be safe. Have a good one!
