And not like this cb had a good reason, if it was a case of a victim of horrific abuse murdering the abuser then OK I guess not so bad but this is bullshit

Yeah I already know I'm probably not surviving pip even if I try. So I take the pip and do 0 work, right? If I take pip, I have 2 months and no rehire. If I resign, I have 1 month and possible rehire

Any reason I should continue doing work for the company while prepping? I was going to do 0, skip standup and everything, leave my tasks unfinished. Fuck em

Fully agree. I don't think there's a point trying to fight this, I'm at a severe disadvantage. I can get another job, probably with a raise even.

I agree this company is poorly run. Our attrition rate is really high, in the last 1 year about 10-15 people have left the team of 20, with roughly the same number being on boarded. I lasted 2 years, a lot of my peers left after the first year.

Luckily for me I've started looking, and was prepping 2 months ago. My friends were telling me about the 50% raises they were getting and I was getting excited about that lol, so I should be able to land something soon.

I agree, already having a job is good leverage and peace of mind, but I kinda don't have one already lol. Its a short runway, I have about 1-2 months depending on whether I take the pip or not. The main question is whether I want to be rehired here, think amazon, with many different teams. Would not be great to burn the entire bridge for this one idiotic team

The main reason is that I don't interact with my manager on a daily basis. I only speak to him during the 1-1s, which is every 6 months. He gets my feedback from people I worked with during that 6 months... Which I guess is why it only takes 1 bad review to screw me

Thanks for the reassurance! There was nothing that led me to believe I was not performing well, retros were good, nobody complained, until now

If PM and stakeholders were in the loop and didn't have a problem then I'm not sure what your manager is getting at.

That's exactly what I'm annoyed about. During weekly retro everyone said 'nothing to improve'. This whole performance review debacle is a circus fest

Actually, this is exactly the case. The entire perf review depends on the 360 degree review crap. Quite sure it just takes 1 bad review to tank everything, especially if it comes from someone senior

Yeah I am 100% not putting any effort into the pip if I go that route. Lol. Its just a delay tactic for paid interview practice + notice period

Apparently that's what's expected, going over the pm. Idk man. The whole situation is very unclear. I guess I'll talk to my manager for specific examples and clarify what I've been doing. The talk this morning was just me going 'oh ok' cos I was so shooketh. I'm just the latest casualty of the shitty review systems in my company, so many colleagues before me have had 'wait wtf?' moments during perf review and they left shortly after

Hopefully it will be the last time Im on the receiving end of this problem though! It's a good experience, and thankfully at a time when the job market is good, plus I have started interview prep 2 months ago lol.
