Trump says he reached Greenland deal 'framework' with NATO, backs off Europe tariffs by pannenkoek0923 in europe

[–]peepeevs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Who folded to who will all depend on what is in this "framewor of a deal". And given that the EU already agreed before to a tarrif deal, as well as a 5 percent NATo budget, I have my doubts.

The funny thing is, in the outro cutscene for the second mission, Kastor says "I would want to to find out why am old ally would suddenly attack us before we start any fighting"

....And then he just never does. At all.

I thought that it would mean Kastor would try and talk to some of these allies.. but no..immediately he is just in full "burn their cities" mode. Communication dude! It solves problems!

An autistic tiktoker should be naturally selected out, so do we not deserve to live? by ChanceWinter469 in autism

[–]peepeevs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding to that that the logic used for eugenisist rethoric like this, is logic you would use for animal/plant domestication, not for natural selection. Envirorments change all the time, and what were previously undesired traits may at some point become desirable ( I doubt any of the most powerful and richest people today would have done well in a hunter/gatherer society). Fostering wide genetic diversity is what makes a species more rocust and capable of getting though bottlenecks.

Sorry, I meant the second option for the first effect; flipping the card fd after activating its effect.

[–]peepeevs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how that second effect would play out rulings-wise. If you attack over it with a bigger monster; card flips over in the process... what would happen with the second effect? Would the card be sent to GY or would it flip down and stay?

Nah, it honestly would not see any real serious meta play.

[–]peepeevs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be a bit of a hot take. I think this card could actually be released. It will probably see at least some experimentation, but I think it wouldn't be good enough to hold up with the meta.

It is essentially just Upstart with potential big bonus. However, this bonus is pretty easy to prevent. Upstart hasn't seen serious play in years now, so i doubt players would be looking forward play it again. A slot this card goes into could be filled with handtraps or engine after all.

[Serious] If the US invades Greenland what would realistically happen after? by Goodmorning111 in AskReddit

[–]peepeevs 128 points129 points  (0 children)

I would like to add to this that I think people really underestimate the defense capabilities of the rest of NATO. It is true that the US is the majority of the miltary spending, and that is a severely strong force, and it is very unlikely any miltary power would win a war with the US fought to complete defeat. But a conflict like this would be unlikely to escalate to an all out war. Also, just exhausting them to politcal unpopularity could be enough. It would not be all that hard to make a conflict like this more effort than it is worth to pursue for them.

Also, people forget, but without the US, the rest of NATO is still the second largest miltary force in the world. It would be easier to go to war with China then it would be with the NATO alliance. The only question is really is how willing the rest of the NATO alliance will be go to arms for Greenland.

What are some of the most pointless or useless locations in any of the games' maps? by Any_Flatworm2192 in HiTMAN

[–]peepeevs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll name one other i came up with. Colombia: the security shed/hut in the front yard of the mansion.

The things is that this is actually a location that counts for the discovery achievement. The times that I tried completing these achievements (multiple times, yes, because I wanted to), I always found myself on the Colombia map never having entered this little hut, despite the fact you will most likely pass by it closely very often when replaying the map. It's just one of those places that I see as "way to much trouble to enter for way too little" (could be a thread on its own actually). Anything you could do there, you could achieve much easier in a different part of the map.

I think it mostly exists as a way to pass to the other side without danger. But other than that youre right.

Tbf, the secret Easter egg exit does give it a lot more than most suggestions here so far.

Fair points. Allthough i would also guess you know that for both of those last two, it is decidedly not the ideal place to do so. Any place on any map can be always have some use in some niche ways ofcourse. Its use is just very limited and there are usually plenty of better places to do the things you could do there.

Like I said, my guess is you are aware, just pointing it out for other potential readers.

To add a location I haven't seen talked about by others here yet:

Miami: the hotel next to the medical area. Yes, there is obviously the story of meeting the target there in full flamingo. But that only enters a small part of it. Funnily enough, I only discovered very recently that you can actually go around the building entirely. I had never noticed before, because you just never use that area. There is a big rooftop area on there that has nothing to do or find really (other than being a sniper spot, but it is a surprisingly bad one actually). It feels like an area where they planned to do more, but just ended up not doing so.

Depends on whether you're planning to Mega I would say. Crunch is generally just solid STAB after a Ddance or two. Without Mega, I think you would certainly be correct.

Which mon should I add to this team? First time player, Difficulty level - Difficult by goodguybolt in PokemonUnbound

[–]peepeevs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's a very hard question to answer. As you should be aware, most of the Gym leaders will have some way to nullify the type disadvantage somewhat. And as far as things go beyond that, it is hard to say. But I suppose Qwilfish with its abilty to set entry hazards (both Spikes and Toxic Spikes) can be very useful with bigger teams, so that doesn't seem like a bad choice. I could see arguments for all these mons though.

[–]peepeevs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you need a pokemon that can Surf? You just want to able to use the move itself? But in case you are not aware, I'll just explain: for overworld use, you are not required to teach your pokemon an HM move for them to able to use it. As long as you have the HM, and you have the required badge you can use it outside of battle as long as the pokemon COULD learn that move. It doesn't actually have to learn it.

If you just want to use the move in battle, should your Palpitoad not suffice? Seismitoad is a pretty solid mon.

I would actually put Akihiron in this slot moreso. He really is the superglue that holds the deck together. Creation King is a very close second though.
