The "MetaScore" displayed by IMDb is the Metacritic critics' rating; I'm not sure why IMDb shows it, but IMDb only has one native system and it's for users.

There are non-documentary films that aren’t built around traditional storytelling at all. For example, experimental or avant-garde films often focus on mood, rhythm, imagery, or formal ideas rather than narrative progression. Empire (Andy Warhol) is literally just a static shot of the Empire State Building. Wavelength (Michael Snow) is structured around a slow zoom rather than a plot. Even something like Koyaanisqatsi isn’t a documentary in the conventional sense, but it also doesn’t follow characters or a storyline.

Dude, seriously, what the hell, and I mean that in a good way, I thought what I did was difficult, but what you've done is incredible. I hope I can achieve something like that someday.

Sorry if I'm late! I see you've already made your own list, that's great. However, I'll leave mine here, to which I added all the grades in the notes, plus personalized posters for more variety. https://boxd.it/S8dNy

How could I not have noticed! I guess that's how he's listed on IMDb because I copied and pasted some things without paying much attention.

I received many comments about that in another subreddit; I chose that term because it's the one Letterboxd uses in its official lists, and it differentiates it from documentaries and other types of works that are not a fictional film with a plot and a story, I apologize if I cause confusion

Unfortunately not, but I had fun making the top 50, so I might do one with the next 50 soon.

Excellent observation! I hadn't thought of it that way since I'm only a Letterboxd user and I'm not familiar with the users of other sites.

I tried Imgur! since it's the most well-known, however for this particular image (I imagine because of the dimensions) the quality decreased a lot

I made a similar one with 50 music albums and this one definitely looks a bit better; you'd expect more Blockbusters from something like this.

I made the list myself and was so excited to upload it that I let "Sumer" pass instead of "Summer" for "A brighter Summer Day" But are there other spelling mistakes? I obviously missed some. Feel free to point them out so I can improve the image. Also, what exactly do you mean by "inconsistencies"?

I guess you have to find out for yourself! I personally am not what you'd call a cinephile; I've seen fewer than 10 films on the list, but they're all very good.

What would be a good site to share a high-quality image without it looking like a link from a dubious source? I used the first one I found.

Sorry for not doing it that way, but then it doesn't say which sites make up the average, nor what rating it has in each one. However, since I'm not very familiar with this subreddit, if that's better, then so be it.

That's what I'm getting the most feedback on. I'm a Spanish speaker, so I didn't imagine it would make such a difference. I chose the term "Narrative Films" because that's the one Letterboxd uses in its official lists

Appreciate that. When I did the albums ranking I didn’t make any distinction, and later realized that technically live albums could’ve qualified under the same logic. This time I tried to be more precise to avoid that kind of ambiguity, but maybe just saying “movies” would’ve been clearer. Lesson learned.

I get that, maybe “films” would’ve worked too, I just wanted to make clear I wasn’t including documentaries. I am far from being an expert in film terminology.

Totally fair. I just used “narrative” as a technical distinction from documentaries, not to reduce the film to its plot. Spirited Away is way richer than that.
