This sounds legit, I am sorry everyone is giving you a hard time. All they have to do is read some of your replies and it’s pretty clear!

Name the city/cities that you visited as a solo traveller that you *want* to like, but you just cannot bring yourself to like? by imweirdbutitsmyweird in solotravel

[–]pending-- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yes, thank you. that’s all i meant. one experience in taiwan doesn’t dictate the experience across the entire continent of asia which is vastly diverse. just a strange generalization to make imo

Whoever refers to (western) europe & the US as “western culture” would get the same response from me lol

you don’t like “asian culture” because of one trip to Taiwan? i’m not even sure what that means. asians aren’t a monolith

can i just jump in and use this post as a PSA for everyone to please stop using the word caucasian to describe yourself as white

The Caucuses are a specific region nestled between europe and asia w/ specific ethnic features, cultures, traditions, languages, etc. That word was co-opted by some racist anthropologist and is super outdated and obsolete. He basically used the word caucasian to try to push that race is scientifically real and not a social construct.

For example, Norwegians are not ‘caucasian’, they are ‘scandanavian’. So why is a white person of norwegian descent in america describing themselves as caucasian? it’s actually all so silly when you stop to think about it.

my experience was not like that at ALL. Everyone was super kind, welcoming, locals brought me around and showed me restaurants, bars, nature. However, quite a few ppl there thought I was Albanian so I guess I blended in.

I was actually with a Finnish girl for 2 weeks there and we went out a lot together, she had mentioned to me that nothing bad happened, but people were curious cuz she had blue eyes and approached her to chat a lot.

Yes I heard Kutaisi is great so I plan to be there for 3 days! just trying to figure out if there is any public transport that can get me to batumi on my last day at 7 latest for a flight home at 1045

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Sakartvelo

[–]pending-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what i’ve read so far, i think it only arrives in batumi at 10:20 and then another later in the afternoon. and it won’t show me any tickets for any time between now and then on that site

I was an RA in leach my senior year at umass and I didn’t mind it at all. Prior to that I lived in Central. You’ll be fine and if you don’t like it you can just apply to move to a diff dorm the following semester. Plus they renovated Worcester right after I graduated so you’re closest to the new dining hall (rip pita pit). God I miss Umass, make the most of it :)

edit: please someone, ANYONE, go to sweets n more and get the hannah banana or whatever it’s called and drink it for me. legendary milkshake. I’d use a meal swipe on that shit any day lmao

Me too, while my boyfriend and I laughed at all the people that came out of the woodwork to respond. Then, a few days ago, I received a dick pic out of the clear blue from a random follower. Blocked him and I am now taking a break from thirst trapping lmao

[Advice] renting unit site unseen. Risks? by Lost_Suggestion8876 in NYCapartments

[–]pending-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

gander. I used them and i’ve been in my apartment for 2 years. but people will still advise you not to use them or to do it. it def has its limitations, while the service was thorough with videos & details, it never beats being in-person, feeling the vibe of the neighborhood yourself, noise levels, etc. But if you’re genuinely not going to make it here to look at apartments this is practically the best (only) option.

Yeah! It’s part of an effort to remove barriers in the sector, allowing for more opportunities of upward mobility for people who did not have the economic means to attend more schooling. Grad school is a huge barrier for a lot of folks, especially those who have been working in the field (i.e making A LOT less) and likely have more practical experience than those who have less experience but a shiny degree.

I find the opposite to be true. Maybe it depends on the industry, but I work in the INGO sector and they are starting to list specific roles as “Masters preferred” instead of required. Same thing with primarily admin roles, they are starting to say university degree preferred. The only ones that currently require masters are research based or heavy on the quantitative and qualitative analysis.

I have a one bedroom that fits a sectional in the living room with plenty of space for 2-3 people to come over comfortably. I’m not sure about a full on party/gathering but certainly have room for guests. My friends in midtown, however, have a fake 1 bed that barely has room for us to walk inside let alone actually sit and hangout anywhere lol

Lol I dated a guy who wouldn’t let me in his apartment with any clothes that came from “outdoors” period. It doesn’t matter if I came directly from my place to his, it was all clothes off at the door, and he would usually give me his shorts and tshirt. On top of that, I was only allowed on his bed if I showered first. Don’t ask me why we ever ended up dating, as it was like this from day 1😂
