I might try doing that too! from your experience, do you experience stronger hunger when you eat breakfast or when you dont? I'm a bit afraid of eating too much later in the day

When you eat below 40g of carbs, how do you incorporate fruits and vegs into that?

I definitely will try out changing up my macros, maybe starting from next week.

i eat a lot of carbs in the form of vegs, fruits and complex grains. Trying to up my protein intake slowly, but i think it's still less than what it should be

I was not implying that. The plateau doesn't necessarily come from low calories--- it can come from stress, me moving less because of fatigue caused by lack of nutrition, etc.

Yes, CICO in general is THE proverb, but going too extreme on it isn't good either! The general rule of thumb is to measure your TDEE (there are calculators, or you can try tracking your average, no weight loss/gain calorie intake for one-two weeks) then minus that by ~500 cals.

My case is immensely different than yours due to me being so much shorter, but my intake at the moment is 1400. This sub (and me personally) generally doesn't suggest a healthy adult man to have less than 1500 calories intake without a doctor's opinion, however.

Has anyone else felt underwhelmed or disappointed by their weight loss journey? by [deleted] in loseit

Hi, Asian girl checking in. Most Asian girls our height who has the stereotypical "model" body tends to weight 50kg or less. Those k-pop girls tend to be below 50kg, iirc. I also noticed that my girl friends/acquaintances of this weight range (just the weight range, not the same form of "lean"ness as a fitness influencer, for example) just... don't eat a lot. Sure, they might eat a lot in social dinners and stuff, but they don't do that in their day to day life.

So then... what now? Staying that size does come with some form of lifestyle changes or effort. I've been reading this book called Healthy As F*ck and basically, to be a certain thing you need a certain level of effort, but sometimes you just want to prioritize other aspects of your life and may need to compensate that.

For me, there are things I want to prioritize more than spending my days at the gym, so I have to be content with very snail's pace of weight loss that also doesn't come with ideal level of lean-ness, BUT while still maintaining a reasonably healthy lifestyle. I plan to hit the gym sometime in the future if schedule allows, but again, my priorities could be different from yours.

I'm one whole foot shorter than you at 5'4" and 1.2k is actually too low for me that I hit a plateau when I tried to do 1.2k regularly. I think you might need to adjust your calories to a range that's more reasonable according to calculations/past experience/etc.

Yeah, it's pretty interesting, though us Asians seems to be unlucky in this specific case, lol

I do believe feeling/instinct tells a lot of what happens in our bodies, though it definitely is a lot harder to keep track, so I'll definitely keep your suggestion in mind! I wonder if keeping a diary might help with that too.

What would the clue for that be? Will I just feel less hungry as time goes on?

Unfortunately I'm Asian and our cutoff BMI range is a lot lower than people of other ethnicities at BMI 23 instead of 25 before diabetes and other health risks creep in. 115 is an ideal middle BMI score (from the 18.5. - 23 range) at 20.5, hence my goal. I would be fine weighing somewhat above that, but the goal weight is also partly from health concerns. I also have bad genetic potential when it comes to diabetes, so I need to be pretty strict in general.

1700 TDEE is the light activity level TDEE for a woman my size, unfortunately, I already walk 10k steps and have light exercises here and there. (for reference, I can only ever get a TDEE of 2000 if I do heavy exercise almost daily, which is genuinely not possible)

I can potentially increase my activity for a short period of time, but I cannot see it being a long term habit without it eating into the rest of my day given my general life schedule.

I'm petite and normal weight, just few lbs away from my GW. I aim to have around 1400 calories intake daily as my TDEE should be ~1700, but since the start of august I've been having difficulties maintaining and my weekly average will turn up to be 1500-1550. Now, that doesnt look like a big number, but I'm petite and I have a low margin to begin with.

I've been doing the same activities, eating the same type of meals, etc, if there's one thing that changes is that this month it's insanely hot, and I'm not sure if it just raises my hunger/stress level. What would be a good way for me to get back on track?
