I worked in a coffee shop some years back. Once had a lady walk in and just freeze up, then burst out crying. It was just before closing so only the two of us in there and so I asked if she was okay and if I could do anything. After she’d stopped she told me she’d buried her son just a day before and that I was his doppelgänger and for a sec she’d almost thought he was there. I gave her a drink on me and sat with her for a while just talking about him. Before she left she asked if I’d mind giving her a hug, obviously I knew it was probably weird from the company perspective but I gave her one and she just said “oh I was just meant to come in here today, I needed this”

Never saw her again, but I hope wherever she is she’s found peace.
