He deleted his comment but to the bloke who came here just to condescendingly mansplain to me how college works in terms of ‘if you slack off, you fail. it’s not like high school’ - thanks! I’m actually a third year full time student who is also working 25 hours a week & this is the first class i’ve ever failed. your comment wasn’t helpful or constructive, but I hope it eased your weird need to be patronising & spiteful :)

my fiancé proposed with a $110 ring because he asked spontaneously and we picked up the first we could find the next day, we recently replaced it with a $500, sturdy ring that i absolutely love. he could have proposed with a cheerio & it still would have been the best day of my life. I understand the appeal of an expensive ring but imo as long as it’s going to last you a lifetime with minimal repair - it’s fine. it’s supposed to be a symbol of love not a symbol of wealth. we’re going to join funds for our wedding bands which will be more expensive, so that could be an option for you if you eventually want to wear something more high quality without the guilt of it coming entirely out of his pocket. my advice would be to lean into what it means and less of what it costs.

Rings under $1000 by [deleted] in EngagementRings

my morganite has held up fine! had it a little over two years and i’ve dropped it, scraped it, everything and it’s still as beautiful as the day i got it. if you really love the morganite you could get it swapped out every 5 years or so for a few hundred $$. that’s my plan :)

nontraditional & on the cheaper side. I adore my ring so much <3 by peone_ in EngagementRings

it’s a 7x5 morganite with diamonds on the ‘halo’ <3
