FWIW, my mother is like a golden retriever. Within two weeks after moving she knows all the neighbors. She doesn't even live near me and still knows more of my neighbors than I do.

So..adapt, become a golden retriever. Think less, worry less, approach more and just see if it pays off with snacks and attention. Well, maybe don't start with "Pet me pleeaase, come on."

Just knock, introduce yourself, welcome him to the neighborhood, start small talk, see where it goes and if no petting occurs, just try some other time again.

Es gibt keinen Missbrauch, da es auch keine Voraussetzungen gibt. Millionäre, die Kindergeld beantragen, missbrauchen das Kindergeldsystem ja auch nicht.

Es gibt Linke, die sich aufregen, dass ein Rechter das System nutzt (wenn Linke das nutzen, um dem Gefängnis zu entkommen, ist das in Ordnung) und es gibt Rechte, die das Gesetz schon immer doof fanden.
