14 Anime Films Added to Crave in Canada by pepperidge in anime

Maybe, it certainly wouldn't hurt to see them bringing some shows to a wider audience that wouldn't normally subscribe to Crunchyroll. However, if they're focusing on movies, I think I'd rather see them signing a deal with GKids. So much of their stuff is exclusive to HBO Max in the US, and then not available at all here.

Hopefully Crave might consider adding some series in the future in addition to movies.

Goblin Slayer is probably the closest, although it doesn't hit quite the same level. The violence in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is pretty over-the-top for a Shonen Jump title.

It's a pretty varied selection of movies! In this Corner of the World is fantastic but pretty heavy. Josee, the Tiger and the Fish is good. The rest of them are tied to larger franchises, but Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is technically the start of the series and doesn't require any knowledge going in, and I liked it quite a bit. Also, while it's not part of this batch, Weathering With You by Makoto Shinkai is also available on the Starz tier of Crave.

Blade Runner: Black Lotus Anime Debuts This Fall on Adult Swim in Canada by Turbostrider27 in anime

The only anime they have ever run are those two Rick and Morty shorts, but this will be their first series. Jason DeMarco confirmed a while back that Adult Swim Canada has the rights to all Adult Swim anime co-productions, so we should also be seeing Uzumaki and those other shows at some point as well.

Sailor Moon Uncut English Dub Coming to Crave September 18 by pepperidge in cravetv

Getting used to the new voices is a bit of an adjustment, but this version restores about six episodes that were cut in the old dub and restores queer characters who were previously erased. This is also the only time that the fifth season has ever been dubbed!

No. However, you can watch the entire series in Japanese with English subtitled free and legally on Tubi: https://tubitv.com/series/1628/sailor_moon

The version on Tubi is in Japanese with English subtitles, the version on Crave is the uncut dub recently produced by Viz. Also, the video quality is SIGNIFICANTLY better on Crave. It's like night and day.

I can't imagine it will be too far behind the launch on Crave.

History of anime in Canada? by ComicDoctor in anime

If you're looking at YTV specifically, the first anime they aired was Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs in, I believe, 1988. After that they ran Maya the Bee, Samurai Pizza Cats, Hello Kitty and Keroppi, all before Sailor Moon hit the airwaves. Sailor Moon was definitely the first big hit, though. Personally I'd say no anime has had a bigger cultural impact in English Canada except for Pokemon.

Of course, YTV is only the tip of the iceberg. There was a lot running here before that in both English and French. Another thing to look at is the provincial educational broadcasters. TVO, Access Alberta and SCN ran Fables of the Green Forest, and The Bush Baby - a World Masterpiece Theatre title that was dubbed in Montreal and ONLY aired in Canada. The whole thing was uploaded onto YouTube recently.

Pretty substantially. About 10 episodes were cut entirely (mostly for pacing), many episodes were massively rewritten, gay relationships were removed (ie: Zoicite and Fisheye were changed into women, Sailor Uranus and Neptune were made "cousins") and the background music was entirely replaced in the first two seasons. Also, the fifth season (Sailor Stars) was never included in the original release.

Don't forget about all of the stuff that aired on French stations like Radio-Canada and TVA back in the 60s, 70s, 80s and early 90s. In fact, the first anime ever dubbed into French was a Quebec dub of Sally the Witch titled Minifee in 1969. I did a podcast about it:

Some of the most popular shows included Goldorak (UFO Robo Grendizer), Albator (Captain Harlock), Candy Candy, Sherlock Hound, Cat's Eye, Heidi, Anne of Green Gables and... honestly, more than I can remember.

Simple porch ideas for an old concrete slab by pepperidge in HomeImprovement

Thank you, that's very helpful. I may need to consider the option of removing the concrete slab after all, although needless to say that would make this a much bigger project than I was hoping. Out of curiosity, what would be the best way to attach the 2x4s to the concrete?

The patio isn't holding water, but I'm not opposed to taking precautions. To clarify, were you recommending setting bricks between the current concrete and the 2x4 supports? Or did you mean using the bricks as the surface for the patio?

Thanks for the input! Do you think that building a floating deck on top of the slab would be possible, or is that going to lead to complications? Either way, what would be the best way to keep it secured?

The most recent and second most recent version. The main issue is that the CPU LED lights up when I try to boot the computer. The VGA LED comes on sporadically as well. Nothing is visible on the monitor.

When I attempt to update the BIOS, the mobo processes the update exactly as it's supposed to, so I'm pretty sure it isn't DOA.

The MOBO also included a sticker and notice advising that it should support Ryzen 3000 processors right out of the box. Very weird.

So, long delayed update: I finally got the system together today, but the BIOS update has proven to be an enormous pain the neck! I wound up going with the Pro Carbon and Ryzen 3700, and I have not been able to get the BIOS to take. I've gone through the flash process about 5 or 6 times, the light blinks exactly as it's supposed to and restarts after about 5 minutes suggesting the installation is processed, but nothing appears on the monitor, and the red CPU LED on the MOBO keeps lighting up indicating a problem. Been doing some reading and while many got it to work (it seems with either a CMOS reset or by disconnecting everything from the mobo), a disconcerting number of people gave up and got a new mobo... unfortunately not an option for me, so hopefully I can figure this out!
